Used FSBO Car Site? Experience?

Anyone have a recommendation or experience selling their cars online with sites besides Craigslist and Ebay?

There's a few sites out that look like potential good ones but they want a crap ton of info just to list. Might be my paranoia, but not real comfortable dropping info like VIN, license plate number and where the vehicle's located in a random site (peddle.com).

Any advice?

If I was going to bother with anything besides eBay or CL, it would probably be the more popular/reputable ones with more exposure and search-engine (Google) priority.
Chances are it's going to be places like Cars.com, Cargurus.com, Autolist.com, etc. YMMV...

Also, just checked out the site you referenced, at it appears to be a "we'll buy your car" model, vs. an FSBO classifieds model.

Feeling the same way...all about SEO in this world. Peddle popped up when I looked for alternatives, it's...different. I'll drop the $20 or so for one of them. Equivalent to the old newspaper classifieds and the plastic "For Sale" sign in the window.

Or I'll just keep it for a winter beater.

I have had good luck with DuPont Registry, but more for high end or rare cars. Cost was $250 and ran on line till it sold. "Bring a trailer" seems to be doing fairly well with the auctions, but again depends on what type of car you are selling.

AFAIK, autotrader.com still charges for listings, but I believe the ones I mentioned above all have free listing options.

I've had my best luck with Craigslist for the last several cars I've sold. Had all of them posted other places and the buyers came through Craigslist.

If it's something unique, different, a classic I'll try CL (in my area) first. depending on the response - I'll post on area's expanded from me (major metro). The cost is "0" but for your time and patience which is required anyway but can be very effective.

I may try word-of-mouth to friends and coworkers if I know someone with the means may be interested.

Then it's on to Ebay, a global audience. I have had buyers and assisted in shipping to Germany, Italy, England, Canada as well as in the continental US. While a lot of people don't like it or their format I make the ad simple, sometimes funny and easy if you just want to buy it now with out listing a buy-it-know in the title.

I live in the 'burbs and have several public spots and park it on a Sat or Sun including my own front yard which fronts a secondary road off of a main artery. This works but requires more 1-on-1 involvement, time............... and yes patience.

Cars.com is about 90% dealer listings and frequently the ads stay up long after the vehicle is sold. Don't rule it out as I found my 2000 BMW 540M Sport 6-speed ( 1 of 1300 or so imported ) there after searching for almost 6 months................and it was just down the street from where I worked.

My advice is don't focus too much on the 'mode' of advertising. Start with the simple process first. Though your OP was other than CL / Ebay -there's a reason why they are the most popular - because they work.
