Iphone or Samsung?
Guys,
I have used Iphone from 4 to 7 and like it. iphone4 is slow, from 5 and up is faster maybe because it's starting to be truly 4G? Anyway, I am looking for a second hand iphone5 due to price drop, and found that you can't add a memory card to an iphone. Someone suggested that I can with Samsung. I have never owned a Samsung and don't know anything about it. Can someone tell me from which model it start getting faster? And anything I should know about? Thanks.

Samsung makes a nice piece of hardware. Yes you can add an SDCard to them. Anything from an S6 on will be quick. However, coming from an iphone you are talking apples to tennis rackets in terms of user experience. In addition, the Samsung will be full of bloatware from the manufacturer as well as the carrier to which it is tied. My wife is totally fine w/ this on her S7 Edge but it drives me insane. If you know how to follow instructions, then you can root the phone, get rid of all that crap and be able enjoy pure Android.

You can use cloud for extra memory, and it will be backed up.

I've got an iPhone 5 that will be replaced tomorrow by an 8. The 5 still works, but the battery is on its last legs. Its a Sprint.

I've got a 4S that doesn't work with JavaScript on. It's driving me crazy.
I'm about to buy a new iPhone, but don't want anything big, as I keep it in my front pocket. |

I think I'm going to move to an Android-based phone once my SE conks out (or when the battery lasts less than a day). I am not completely attached to the Apple ecosystem. |

I've got a few Samsungs around here, a couple years old and dropped from updates from the carriers, one ugly truth no one tells you about.

I develop for Android but carry a iPhone 5s. My next phone will be some sort of Android. Yes agree with wildthing, Android phones are bloated with carrier apps where Apple has negotiated a deal to keep their phones clean of crap. The way around this is to buy your Android phone direct from Google. Their phones are a couple years ahead of Apple in technology. If you are entrenched in the iOS ecosystem then perhaps you should stay iPhone. That said if you can google and have an ounce of tech skill your transition from Apple to Android is pretty straight forward.

Apple, Samsung, Pixel or Essential in that order.
I think from Samsung S7 onwards you are doing nothing wrong. But I am in the Apple-corner. |

Samsung is even making OLED screens for Apple! If you LIKE Samsung's interface, it is fine. If you don't, get something else. Same with Apple. Pixel is pure Android. That said, the OP's questions is like asking which religion is best, or more precisely, right...

No, my example of Iphones is just to demonstrate that iphone5 got much faster than iphone4. And iphone7 is not much faster than iphone5 (is not the same) consider speed.
I am not comparing Samsung and Iphone. My question is between different Samsung's models, which model get faster, which start having solid 4G.... Quote:

I noticed a big speed update from the 4 to the 5. My wife would probably still be using her 4 if she had her way.
I went S4 to S5 to S6. Skipped 7 (I own one now which will get used as a second corporate phone. It was cheaper than a second 8) and went to the S8. I didn't have much of an issue with my S5. It seemed to perform well. The 6 was a more solid design, except it lost 3 major functions: Waterproof, replaceable battery and micro-SD cards. The 7 was a little faster, but it was waterproof and had micro-SD cards. The 8 changed the game with the larger and better screen and faster processor which uses less power.
