Pelican Down! Hugh Rose Could Use Some Good Thoughts...

Hugh is in the hospital with a serious reaction to some meds. He could use some good thoughts, prayers, (and Scotch and Cigars) while he is on the mend.

Get well soon sir!

(all can send the hootch and stoogies to my attention and I shall 'forward' when he is back on his feet!)

masraum 09-29-2017 04:25 AM

Wow! positive vibes and prayers incoming for sure. Hugh is one of the good guys and we'd like to keep him around.

stomachmonkey 09-29-2017 04:27 AM

Oh man.

Was wondering why he did not reply to my PM the other day.

Get well soon Hugh.

And yeah, I'm a bit creeped out with the timing here.

Thanks guys. On Wednesday I had a very severe reaction to a new blood pressure prescription it swelled my tongue and throat so much I blacked out. I'm much bettter now and hope to go home today. I'm glad my wife was home at the time.

Craig T 09-29-2017 06:48 AM

That's great to hear Hugh. Glad it passed without serious complications. Heck, you have a long time of retirement leisure ahead of you.

tabs 09-29-2017 06:57 AM

Well it is a sad thing to hear that Hugh is down, and one hopes that he can get back up and resume his retirement with no ill effects.

It would be a real shame for a guy to retire and the day after drop like a rock. Where he will be sitting in a chair with a blanket wrapped around him while his attendants wipe the spittle from his chin...People would then comment, "Why he didn't even get to spend a dime of all that money he saved for all of those years..." me thinks it happens all too often.

Hang in there Hughhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat.gifYou aren't done yet!

OffCamber00 09-29-2017 07:10 AM

Scary...glad you are ok and on your way home soon.

sc_rufctr 09-29-2017 07:24 AM

Great news Hugh. Take care.

wildthing 09-29-2017 07:58 AM

I can only imagine the scary situation. My buddy collapsed as well at home, and luckily his nephew was right there and saw him. It was a heart attack... Glad your wife was home then.

Hope you are back in better form soon.

pavulon 09-29-2017 08:17 AM

If it goes far enough, people can die or receive an emergency surgical airway from angioedema...

pwd72s 09-29-2017 08:21 AM

Good to hear you're going to be okay, Hugh.

Gotta love those medication commercials. Footage of the happy patients leading a wonderful life, while the rapidly spoken warning says "in some cases, death..."

jyl 09-29-2017 08:35 AM

Which med was it?

Damn!!!! Get back on your feet soldier!

Schrup 09-29-2017 08:58 AM

Glad you're doing better Hugh. I had a similar reaction to penicillin when I was a kid.

Lisinopril for High blood pressure and it wasn't all that high back to normal now 121/86

dennis in se pa 09-29-2017 09:07 AM

Glad to hear you are getting better.

Evans, Marv 09-29-2017 09:11 AM

Get back to normal ASAP Hugh. I've been taking the same med for BP for a long time. Glad I've not experienced any negative effects. Like Paul I also had a similar reaction to penicillin as a kid. That was scary.

Tobra 09-29-2017 09:14 AM

Bet it scared hell out of DR, stressful when your everlovin' spouse is trying to up and die on you like that.

Maybe you should meditate, or listen to Mozart or something for the hypertension. Is medical MJ legal in Pennsylvania? Probably not, damn Quakers

Vipergrün 09-29-2017 09:38 AM

Wow, scary as he11. Glad to hear things are better!

BlueSkyJaunte 09-29-2017 09:54 AM

Glad you're OK Hugh. Pretty scary how varied (and extreme) reactions to common meds can be.

Don Plumley 09-29-2017 10:01 AM

Glad to hear you are on the mend.

speeder 09-29-2017 10:13 AM

Glad you are feeling better. Life is fragile and can go south quickly from a bad reaction to medicine. :(

GH85Carrera 09-29-2017 10:13 AM

Glad you are recovering.

See what happens when you retire! Now do it right, like the Vulcans say, Live long and prosper.

GWN7 09-29-2017 10:17 AM

Happy to hear it was a short reaction to the med. Be well. :)

"Blood pressure med" and "tongue," so that's what they're calling it these days.

Glad you're feeling better! :)
