Opinions about new tinting - it's peeling on back window

I just had my windows tinted about 3 weeks ago and when I was washing the outside of the car I noticed that the rear window is peeling at the top right corner. I'm going to bring the car back and get this fixed.

My question is: When they repair this, should they be peeling off the entire window and starting over or will they want to just fix the part that is peeling off. The section is the top right edge of the rear window (1" x 6") on my Cayman.

If they are going to peel off the whole thing and start over (my preference), I would like to go one shade darker but I'm afraid they will think I peeled it myself so that I could change the darkness.

Any opinions? The tinting was done at US Tint and comes with a lifetime warrantee. I went with 50% & Ceramic.

You can see in the photo below that I went with the lightest tint possible all the way around but some people have commented that I should have gone darker on the rear window and I'm starting to agree.

They will strip the window and re tint. There’s no “fixing it”. The film is adhesive backed.

Just be honest and ask them if they’ll go to a 40 or 30...

The ceramic films have very good heat rejection.

I had a tinter out last week doing a client’s 993. Went 40% ceramic.

He showed me a btu meter and we compared some films. The ceramic had massive advantage over some traditional dyed films that looked way darker...but had minimal actual rejection.

Just my $.02.

If they did the window in strips don't let them replace just the strip that is peeling. Make them do the entire window.

The rear hatch on my 944 got a bubble in it about 2 weeks after it was done and they replaced just the strip with the bubble in it. It was fine for about a year but it eventually faded to two different colors even though they assured me it was the same tint. 10 years later and it's ridiculous how different it is. It's like it's not even the same tint.

Thanks. I will make sure I get the entire window tint replaced from scratch. Also, after looking at my photo, I think I will stick to my original plan and continue with the light tint. It may not be for everyone but I personally like it and I was mostly looking for some contrast to the silver car more than the absolute privacy.

I’m surprised that it’s peeling
They will make good on it or I will picket out front with you
I watched when they did my car and the rear window is a single piece of material

My Cayman Tint is just slightly darker than yours, just got a ticket 2 weeks ago for it
