Shuffleboard tables, any advice?

I am thinking about getting a shuffleboard table for my house. I see they vary in price, from about $1K up to as much as you want to spend (over $20K at least).

For the extra money, you seem to get a thicker and wider playing field, solid wood as opposed to MDF cradle, scoring etc.

As a novice without designs of becoming professional (if there is such a thing), would an inexpensive shuffleboard table provide as much enjoyment as a more expensive one?

I think I would want at least a 12 foot table, but would consider up to 16 if I can fit it in my house.

Hudson is a fine brand. Playing surfaces made in So Cal.

Handcrafted Shuffleboards: Hudson Shuffleboards

They have a sale for 20% off a couple times a year. If you buy from a reseller, you can probably get that off anytime. I have toured the factory and met the owner. I am pretty sure that is what I will be getting.

There was a bar I played pool in when in college that had a nice shuffleboard. It was 16ft and all wood. It was pretty popular. That's all I know, I played pool.

Hudson and McClure seem like the Cadillacs of the shuffleboard tables.

Anyway, I certainly believe that one can't go wrong there, but those are a lot more expensive than say a Brunswick table.
