I think you will be impress on its performance and its size. I am totally sold on it. If I really need to bring out the big gun, I have Nitecore's Tiny Monster. That thing will light up a whole building. I only use it if I really need to check out what's going on in my back yard as I have no neighbor and its all canyon and very dark.

It gets here Thursday, so I will definitely let you know.

I have a cheap LED from Home Depot in the cars now, so I may replace them all with these.

You don't have to buy all the other stuff. A light, battery and a simple charger will do, like the one below. You dont need it, but you want it

You should be able to pick one up for under $50, which IMO, is still overpriced for an 18650 tube light with a single XP-L emitter. As glewis80SC mentioned earlier, Convoy lights are an excellent value, and most models have several choices for emitter, color temp/tint, and driver configuration. They are easy to modify/upgrade as well, if you are so inclined.

There are about 8-9 options on Amazon that range from $46 up to $130. They include some with just the flashlight for $46 (battery and charger not included)
https://www.amazon.com/ThruNite-TN12-EDC-LED-Flashlight/dp/B01EWW91S8?th=1

Or for $60 you get the flashlight, battery and charger
https://www.amazon.com/ThruNite-TN12-EDC-LED-Flashlight/dp/B072FKH2CQ?th=1

And then they have a $90 option that comes with a fancy charger and 2 batteries.
and all of the options seem to be available in cool white or neutral white.

If you don't want to buy a separate LED head for the E2, these guys have an LED drop-in "bulb" available for it: Lumens Factory

Not going to be Earth-shattering output, but much brighter than the original incan. bulb.

I Used to have their L2P lights and have never had any problems with them. I dropped the light into someone's pool. That was the end of that. They make a quality product and priced really well. My lights were single power, full on and off, no additional mode. It will run on CR123s. it will be much brighter then your Streamlight

Be careful with some of them as they are sold without bulb or host only. Mainly they are sold individuals who are interested in building their own flashlights

Once you get an LED flashlight, you will never again use your obsolete incandescent ever again.
My Maglight is nothing but a paperweight now.
It's like a horse and buggy vs. a rocket ship
It's a pathetic joke compared to LED lights.

Li-ion batteries are also a complete game changer.

Just like going from sealed beam to halogen to HID and now LED headlights.

I am a big fan of the surefire flashlight. You cannot doubt about their quality. Their flashlight life cycle is also high. But, the problem with their prices. Surefire flashlight price is higher than any other flashlight. Right now I have this flashlight surefire G2X review. It is perfectly working without any problem from last two years. It looks like a long lasting flashlight. This is the reason why i love surefire flashlight. I tried few other brands flashlight but those are not like surefire.
