So?

The owners insurance company writes a big check to get it fixed. The rich owner pays a little more for insurance. Everyone learns he is a bad driver, his car is featured on Wrecked Exotics web site.

It is just a car. Nothing that can't be fixed or replaced.

It is thought the car was travelling in a convoy of sports cars at the time and police have appealed for witnesses.
I once tried to go for a spirited drive though the country with some Ferrari owners, they spooked me a bit at what they were willing to do. I just held back and decided that I would eventually catch up with them, and I didn't need to keep up.

There was a one-up mentality with these super car owners, very competitive.

Of course their cars were more than capable of blowing me off the road, I just didn't think it was right to drive that aggressively on public streets.

Sounds like this guy got caught up in the heat of he moment and toasted his car.

Live and learn.

A good accident will instill a little character in it's history.

All that's left is to sue the car manufacturer because they made it too fast.

The officer mulled to himself, "Good tires, but certainly not great tires."

I imagine the people who built the car are fairly miffed at the driver. When you hand build a car you tend to get a little attached to it.

I looked up the location, southwest of London, on the coast, about 60 F was the high, so cold tires early morning in the low 50's on summer compound tires could be a factor. Saturday was the 21st, date of incident, looks like early morning rain/drizzle.

I'm not sure what time of day the incident was, but if you get started early there is less traffic on the road.

Many years ago when I liven in Alabama the Ferrari club would hire the Porsche club to run a track event at Road Atlanta. They had deep pockets and paid us enough that we could rent Road Atlanta the next week with the proceeds we made from them.

I was in the corner worker station when a Ferrari 312T just like Niki Lauda's winning F1 championship car spun and was stuffed into the wall. The owner shrugged and said he will send it to Ferrari and have it repaired, no big deal. The owner was not even driving it. It was a mechanic checking it out and getting it ready. It's just money.
