hey BerettaFAN!
i have a O/U silver pigeon. 12 gauge. it is oddly the ONLY shotgun not marked with the max shell size. i assume it is only good for 2.75" shells. fixed chokes.
i looked at the barrels.. top barrel has one odd dot.bottom barrel has 3 way more neater and clearer dots. am i reading it correctly? top barrel is FULL CHOKE; bottom barrel is Mod? odd that there is such of diff between barrels on the same gun.if true. i also have a SXS (is it also a silver pigeon?). fixed chokes. the barrels is marked on the left barrel only. marked "M/IC". does this mean my left barrel is mod, and my right barrel is IC? it's maiden voyage may be coming up this year for NM quail season.. that SXS has never been shot..and i have never shot a SXS before. i believe the quail will come out unharmed. that double trigger will save many quail i imagine.

chokes are relative. get a pair of clipers and measure. smaller measurement is the tighter choke

hey BerettaFAN!
I believe you are correct on the full (*) and mod (***) choke designations.
My guess is you have an s55 model with 2 3/4” chambers. These were first offered from in 1956. The later silver pigeons were also avail with optional fixed chokes and in both 2 3/4” and 3” chambers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pull the forearm and see if you can find O markings on the bbls. If so those would be choke designations and the stars may be proofing marks.

Need pics of other markings possibly under the barrels. For the sxs you will find markings where barrels meet receiver (underside)
