been dealing with it for several months now.

wakes me up at night.
it hurts no matter how I sleep but laying on my left side with my lft arm out straight, then when I try to move it some time in the night I almost don't want to ever move it again because it is going to hurt so much when I do.
and it can tolerate pain, but sleeping....

I did a corticoid shot a few months ago. felt fine for about 2 months.

Not a ton of fun. I put up with the pain & discomfort for a year - finally got the obligatory cortisone shot which allowed me to do the physio rehab thing. Rehab consisted of the exercise "unclebilly" has mentioned but using the "eccentric exercise' method with a light weight to stretch things out.

Good luck & as I am sure you are aware - it won't go away overnight.

Cheers
JB

Lived with it on-off most of my life (too much tennis, sometimes with improper motion I guess)... If you play tennis, things that helped me:
- older racket with more flex, not the latest gen sticks you could use as car ramps
- Old fashioned string, not the new stuff you could weave bulletproof vests with
- Voltaren (prescription anti inflamatory) + rest (at least 2 weeks, a month is better)
- The forearm rubber brace helps...
- also improved technique if it's tennis induced ;-) Otherwise you're on your own except for the drug advice!

PS: it's peanuts next to plantar fasciastis ;-)

I developed as a teenager, playing tennis. I re-injured the arm in my 20's with a poorly laid out desk and a program where the short cut keys did not work (mouse only). I had to go left handed with the mouse for a year.

It is the strong grip at a distance. Get them to give you cortizone+novizane!!! right in the elbow! 10 seconds to perfection!

I put up with the pain for 6 months before I went to an ortho doctor. I got a cortisone shot in the elbow and wore the forearm brace for 2-3 months. No more issues so far...~ 4 years now.

Jupp. Its a real bummer.

I had it bad for several years. Went through the cortisone shots and they eventually became less effective. Then had the surgery and all is good. I expected the surgery to be easy and back at it day two....that was not the case. very painful but worth it. It has been about 7 years now and only hurts when shoveling or using a post hole digger-so i avoid those things.

Had it, painful.......tried to remedy through inactivity with little to no results. Then went to gym and tried stretching wrists/forearms and triceps. Then used light weights for wrist curls, bicep curls, tricep strengthen and stretch again afterwards. Also iced twice daily. Achieved much better and quicker results stretch, strengthen and ice than inactivity which did nothing.

Avoid the repetitive activities and stretch and strengthen to avoid tennis elbow.

I've had it for many years thanks to Tennis. I had to play with brace to help alleviate the pain. Looks like this below:

It helped a little, but I just learned to live with it thanks to a lot of other body parts that hurt as well. I did 3 corticoid shots in my wrist thanks to a nerve that wasn't working properly. I reached my allowed limit and they told me I'd have to get surgery to get rid of the pain fully. After not playing tennis as competitively after college, these pains faded away. So, depending on what activities you do, they may be making your elbow worse. I'd ice and use a brace if needed.
