old rock stars don't go bald?

Thank goodness I have a good head of thick hair and only have a few strands of gray. Good genes.

I notices rock stars are often not bald. look at the 3 remaining Zeps., Rolling Stones, Rod Stuart, Aerosmith, Styx, Haggar, the Van Halens and the list goes on. I know, I know, there are few you can name off the top of your head, but for the most part they have a good set of hair. They all have implants, wigs, or what?

sc_rufctr 11-01-2017 08:39 AM

Sylvester Stallone has had extensive hair "restoration". Nicolas Cage & John Travolta have also had major work done and they're not fooling anyone.
IMO Tom Cruise has had work done. He'd deny it if course but as they years roll by it's becoming more obvious.

I guess like boob jobs for women it easier to get work in Hollywood if you have a full head of hair.

I respect people like Woody Harrelson & Robert Duvall. They don't seem to care.

vash 11-01-2017 09:33 AM

vash 11-01-2017 09:33 AM

look 171 11-01-2017 10:27 AM

I don;t know anything about hair implants and extensions. But all those guys sure look to have natural hair.

sc_rufctr 11-01-2017 10:32 AM

Note how all of The Rolling Stones are fit and slim. That's not an accident.
True professionals. They would have the best doctors, nutritionists and chefs on their payrolls.

haha..i didnt dabble in country music..(honestly ONLY because early Shania Twain was smoking hot..she could have been singing modern interpretive Korean jazz at that point and i would have tuned in - no offense to any modern interpretive Korean jazz fans) until i moved to California. :D

Jon B 11-01-2017 10:46 AM

What a drag it is, getting old... Jagger/Richards

How long have you been in CA and what brought you out?

Agreed. That's why people like Queen Elizabeth live so long.

Like CEOs, they have big bucks and can afford the time and nutritionists to keep them nice and fit. I rarely see an overweight CEO, but lots of fat tradesmen

vash 11-01-2017 11:42 AM

Keith R. was considered healthy?

People try to put us d-down (Talkin' 'bout my generation)
Just because we get around (Talkin' 'bout my generation)
Things they do look awful c-c-cold (Talkin' 'bout my generation)
I hope I die before I get old (Talkin' 'bout my generation)

And yes I notice and it pisses me off that all these rocks stars +10 years older than me have full heads of hair!

I'm ready to just shave my head but wife vetoed the idea (currently get a #3 razor all over).

"It's great to be here tonight....Hell, it's great to be anywhere tonight"....

Crowd goes nutz...I was in the crowd :)...

Bobby Keys, the sax player. RIP, but he had a full, thick head of hair!

herr_oberst 11-01-2017 01:46 PM

Back to the OP topic, don't forget our resident Rockstar, Gogar, from BHTM.

He's got a thick full head of brown curls that I'm sure the groupies love to run their hands through!

Lyle O 11-01-2017 01:46 PM

Bobby Keys was no Twiggy either...

Oops, herr oberst beat to the conclusion

Yep, later in life he was rather not-fit :)....an awesome sax player for many bands, but I never really considered him a Stone, more of a "hired gun" when they needed a sax. Stewart was part of the band from the beginning...but was asked not to tour early on due to his appearance and size....both were awesome players....RIP.

Yeah, but he's about 30 years younger

Gogar 11-01-2017 02:47 PM

Most rock stars have a healthy head of hair due to a lack of the elevated cranium temperatures usually associated with higher brain function.

Jeff Higgins 11-01-2017 03:26 PM

We saw the Moody Blues on what was Justin Hayward's 70th birthday. He quipped that he had now been through "the '60's" twice, but the first time his hair was brown and his teeth were white... this time his hair was white and his teeth were brown. Still lotsa hair.

I must be a freakin genius!

My Dad always said...If you have a bald spot on the back of your head you were a good thinker. If you had a receding hairline you were good at sex. If you had a receding hairline going all the way back to a bald spot, you just think you are sexy.

But he's FIT :)....and I think it was 40 years ago when he shook the monkey off....

Keef was a snorter, Jerry was a smoker....most automatically think of H junkies as using needles...not so.

Heroin is an effective hair tonic?

Who knew?

Sammy Hagar, same age as Bill Clinton.

LONG LIVE ROCK!

KFC911 11-02-2017 11:18 AM

Tequila is better for ya than cigars...I'm just sayin'...:)

Bought a bottle of Sammy's Cabo Wabo reposado some years back while visiting some old buddies....limited selection in the store.

Pretty good stuff :)

Bill married a witch....that ain't natural aging :(

vash 11-02-2017 11:39 AM

i imagine running around on stage is great exercise. hell, i bet they have to exercise to last a full show.

i didnt like his tequila. it is okay. i would however, love to party with sammy. he looks like a great time. he looks awesome for his age.

Mick gets in tip top shape...that's for sure....he's non-stop. Keef and Ronnie just smoke and drink less....they don't move much :)

One of my Fl buddies (turned me on to "good Tequila" decades ago) sat at a beach bar in CA (Hermosa I think) years ago chatting with Ron Wood.....couldn't understand a word he said due to his accent....probably a two-way street....we call him Bubba :)

Joe Bob 11-02-2017 02:20 PM

Brett Michaels....ain't fooling no one with that bandana....

LONG LIVE ROCK!

I saw a vid of Hagar (similar to the pic you posted). It was at shaking his head like a rag doll in a dog's mouth with that hair. I find it hard to believer that isn't his real hair.
