Fun with a scammer

Yesterday, I got one of those scam calls, caller pretending to be somebody I know, in a jam, needing $$ to get out. Guy knew my name...hmmm. Must have also known my age, because he called me "grandpa". The tale was of getting a DUI, needing money to repair damages he'd caused. I let the tale unfold, saying "gee that's tough", etc.

Then when I told him I had no grandkids, he began cursing me.

I just can't understand why some people are so nasty these days.

I had some scammer call me and start with the same type of BS story. I let him spin the tale and then asked him if he remembered that time he borrowed my car and totaled it. He paused and finally said uh yea. I said that is why I know your are just a low life liar, because that never happened. Then I said I hope you rot in jail.

The IRS was supposed to come take me away yesterday. I was going to get extra time for using foul language and wasting time on a government line also. Achmed was not happy with me

I like telling them that I'll send the money. Then I hang up and do nothing. If they call back, I tell them that I sent the money somewhere else by mistake. If you're good, you can try to tease out some geographic clues so that you can have them driving all over the place trying to collect the money you never sent.

I was watching one of those hotrod shows the other day, I can't remember which one. One of the mechanics was getting those calls and he didn't know what to do. One of his coworkers had a brother or BIL in law enforcement, and had him come over and cuff the guy and walk him across the street before they let on he was being scammed. Or it could have all been made up reality TV drama. It was funny.

I had a girl called me a few weeks ago - late into the night, crying, saying she was pulled over and in jail. I was her only call. I asked why she was pulled over, she said DWI. She tried to act like she was my daughter or granddaughter or something through the whimpering. I told her "Sweetie, like I have told you and your siblings, if John Law catches you that means your too stupid to be in public. Enjoy the 3 chicken fingers and stainless steel toilet." She got real quite then hung up.

Hope shes ok. Jail can be rough on a kid.

I drug a "windows technical center" guy through 45 minutes of listening to me talk about my rock band and ineptly try to work my computer. As we got down the road a bit, I whispered to him "it all started when I watched some porno." He encouraged me and agreed that my computer was in fact goofed up because of this but he could fix it. Then I told him that I preferred "barnyard scenes, man on dog, horse on man, etc." He got really quiet. Some other guy got on the phone and cursed me out in non-sensical profanity then hung up.

My kids laughed so hard that I was mildly concerned for their health. Good times.

I had the guy from "geek support" describing what the Windows icon looks like for 20 minutes. Then I gave him the IP address for fbi.gov when he tried to connect...
