Supposedly 65 dB. I'm skeptical. But since the cycle is only 180 seconds, I don't care if it's noisy.
I probably won't hear it over my commercial fridge :-) Wife is skeptical about the commercial dishwasher idea. But her best friend was here this weekend and told her commercial dishwashers are awesome, if we can afford one we have to get one, etc. (Friend used to own a restaurant.) So we're still up in the air. No commercial range. Pretty close, an American Range open burner.

I see those at Starbucks all the time and have always been interested since we build lots of custom kitchens. I see them load and take dishes out of those DW all the time but never hung around long enough to see or wait for wash cycle. You might just hang around and hear them run and determine how loud they really are in that already loud environment.

A hundred years ago, when I was starting out in a restaurant, I ran a commercial dishwasher for a while. No way I would want one of those in my house. It basically sterilized the dishes, for lack of a better term, all the "cleaning" was done before I loaded it.
I've had a Bosch for the better part of 20 years. I run it daily and don't have any problems. The buttons on the front can be prone to breakage internally, but I eventually figured out I don't need to use any of them, as I just run the same cycle every day. When I have a big dinner, assuming I clean up at all that night (which is not a given,) what doesn't fit in the Bosch sits in the sink until the next day. No big deal. The last thing I want to do after a nice dinner is bust my ass in the kitchen. I have a second dishwasher in the garage, that I was given by a friend when he remodeled his kitchen, and I may install it in the pantry. I was going to replace the Bosch, but frankly I don't see the point. |

I worked in a college kitchen when I was in high school. My job was "washout" - I put on this big rubber apron and industrial rubber gloves and used this really high pressure sprayer to wash off the dishes before they went into the dishwasher. They were pretty darn clean when they went it. I got fired when they found out I was only 15 years old.

Replaced our aging Kitchen Aide with a Bosch from the scratch & dent isle at Best Buy a couple months ago. I don't even hear it unless I'm standing next to it. Don't forget to switch your under sink disposal unit at the same time.

I have hickory hardwood floors in my kitchen and had an area ruined by a leak from my prior Kenmore Elite dishwasher so this was a major factor in choosing Bosch with the Aquastop feature.

Hey - guess what? ours is now going south. great. I'm looking into replacements, the Mr's wants SS panel that does not leave fingerprints........................mmmmmmmmmmmmmm . I like SS but that option really limits the choices.
We're looking in the $600-900 selling price range. From my research there is definitely a quality gap when you get into that price point vs $400-500 selling price range at the big box stores. Is there any unbiased websites that do a side by side comparison for Joe Consumer to help? I'd like to see who had the best warranty's in that price range - but I don't see an option of how to filter that. Further discussion please.

FWIW, I don't think stainless steel looks as clean as plain old painted white plastic. I have a stainless steel trash compactor and a white dishwasher and the compactor usually looks like it's been mud wrestling, the dishwasher looks white.

No stainless steel surfaces for me. They always look dirty and needs much more touch up!

I bought the Bosch 300 series for 700-800 and it's been nice; but no long term experience yet.

We are on our second set of F-P dish drawers. First set was still working - kinda - after 15 years, but had gotten a little shabby inside. Old and new sets are the quietest I've ever (not) heard!
