"Danica" Documentary
Has anybody else seen Danica's full-length documentary "Danica" on EPIX? I always thought she was a good driver (for a girl), and have tried to defend her on this board a couple time. Not anymore!
"Danica" is a self-serving PR campaign in effort to improve her image and promote her new wine label. IMHO it backfired. I was so sick of her by the time it was over. Her driving career is over and this was obviously an attempt to stay relevant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FswnVcV9bxg

I would have liked to see her win races. She is not a terrible driver. More like average. One has to be better than average to win in Cup. I think she is out to make max cash. I'd also like to see her nekkid.

She is a money making machine. Driving is a means to that goal.

she runs a consistent 20th or so on the circle track. there I think it is more about who has the money to put into the car to have a good car than it is the driver.
at least she is finishing the race now. seemed like she was crashica for a while there.

I think she's won a grand total of one race in her entire pro career, and that one came with an asterisk. I can't think of a less successful driver that had a career the length of hers.

Anybody given her opportunity would have worked it also...... We are capitalists...... my beef is the hypocrisy around sexism..... if she could have driven in a bikini she would have ....... god forbid that any male would have commented......

Yep, that's the one. That race was won on fuel mileage strategy and pitstop sequencing. It is a win, but not one that she gets for being the fastest driver out there that day. She just happened to be the fastest driver that got the call on the pitstop sequence right... which is a decision that's made by the team manager or strategist.

Kind of a funny thread.
"This is horrible, I wish I hadn't watched it and I don't like her anymore. Here, let me further the agenda that pissed me off with some free advertising."

That pretty much sums up every driver in NASCAR. Probably any other series too. I don't think all the drivers go into it with that mentality but the corporate influence takes over and this is the result in the end in most cases.

At .00001 return on her net worth she would make more than the average income.
I think it is more about wanting to do something and not be lazy. Promoting is what she does as a race driver, same thing without the racing. |
