I will take whole days off to cruise anymore since traffic can get so bad during normal hours around here. I enjoy taking a summer afternoon off and driving to this little English tavern called The Whip out in horse country, Pennsylvania. It's a thoroughly relaxing, sublime experience, especially after a polish a few pints off with my fish and chips.

been there, done that, got the post card. got tired of it. learned to race cars, nothing remotely compares to it.

Driving my 911, I am rarely not having fun. The car is light and a joy to drive from slow to fast and everywhere in between.

Driving is still fun sometimes, even in L.A. It's a big city so even though it's crowded, open roads pop up all the time. There are little opportunities to roar a bit. :)

Someone has to play the part of the voice of reason.

Agreed. I did track events for a decade and "normal driving" is numb by comparison. However, personal obligations have kept me from doing track events over the past 5 years and I miss it horribly.

Says the guy with Glendora Mountain Road, Turnbull Canyon and Mulholland Drive in his backyard.

If you desire empty roads, let me suggest BC Highway 97 and the Alaska Highway. Had multiple occasions this past September when I didn't see another vehicle traveling in my direction. When I finally caught one, just passed it. That's why I have 911s.
