The List is Growing on Sexual Inappropriate Behavior
It started years ago with Gary Hart...maybe earlier. Clinton, Cosby, Spacey, Louis CK, Roy Moore. Who is next?
Sarah Silverman provided an interesting comment on CK: Quote:

I never cared for Louis ck..never thought he was funny nor clever. So if I never hear from him again no loss.
|
Al Franken is a pig!
|
I think that there is a long long line of men in politics, Hollywood, and in business that are exactly like this. Over the next several months and hopefully from now on, these guys will be called out on it.

Ironic.
Sara Silverman would be serving pancakes in Boise if she hadn’t done jimmy kimmel. |
Seems the defn of sexual predator is sliding
It's like everyone wants to claim they are a victim. |
Sylvester Stallone!
Not surprised to be honest. Sylvester Stallone accused of forcing teen into threesome | Daily Mail Online |

Here in the global Mecca of PK its become an epidemic. Every other day there is a new uprise on the internet from another group. Personally I believe this is the start of a much larger movement where finally the women will take power away from men. Not by brute force, but by shaming, outing and law. From way back in time (still in place in muslim countries where women are obliged to cover themselves) it was the privilige of a man to choose woman. Now it will be the other way around. No man will dare to make any move on a woman without a written conscent for fear of being accused. Men will become the passive part. Sitting quitely in the back. Waiting for a female to approach. Leather and whips may come into faschion. And some men may like that. :D
Oh well. Just a friday morning rant. Almost whisky time. |
Like everybody seems to have Sexually inappropriated somebody or something these days but me.. I neither have or have been sexually inappropriated at all.
I feel left out. |
Hehe I know what you mean. Why do the woman get all the harassment. :D

Suddenly I feel depressed. :D

It's how that business works. Suddenly a change in ethics reveals the world for what it is... Not surprised.
End game? Equality, Woman's rights, Equal opportunity? No I think these are more sinister accusations to burn individuals then to fix a bigger problem. |
Almost got fired, got sent home for a week without pay, and had to go to a shrink for sensitivity training for mentioning that the wound care specialist had to do a skin graft on my foot after stepping on a nail. And that I had to sign a waiver because skin grafts were made from foreskin. The chick made a statement that i had said they filled the holes in my foot with dead baby penises. And that that was sexual harassment and sexual innuendo.
As far as I am concerned that **** has gone way too far when you can't even use the proper clinical terms to tell someone about a medical procedure. And if she didn't want to hear about a medical procedure, why the heck didn't she just say she didn't like hearing about medical stuff? |

The payment for the smell of food is the sound of money. If someone was truly abused, that is awful, and needs to be addressed. If you were made uncomfortable, you should get a shrink.
A lot of payback going on here, but let's face it, some of this stuff is truly weird. What is interesting is that some men are owning up, and some are trying to slide by. |

True enough, but you won't do it again in any case. Assuming everyone is a mature adult is a mistake, but it is easy to forget. |
Silverman's comments are completely on point with regard to her friend CK. Al Franken otoh seems as much a victim of a change in mores and his own exuberance. There is a difference between "sexual assault" and offensive inappropriate misbehavior. Isn't either actual genital misconduct or wielding power in an attempt to coerce an "element of the crime"?

^^
Spot on Greg. |
Charlie Sheen was wrong. You don't pay them to leave, you pay them to be quiet.
What the good Senator did was a crime, fellas. Also, he was in a position of power and abused that privilege..."practice the kiss". UFB. BTW, who wants to bet me $10 bucks this won't be the last chapter in Franken's "inappropriate behavior". |
Know your audience people ! My co-workers and I have been inappropriate to each other for many years now, but it's all in good fun, and we keep our mouths shut around other people.....no touching though !
|
Paul - I'm not siding with Franken - I'm not a fan - but that incident occurred when he was a comedian - not a "politician."
|
But it did happen while Franken was Franken.
Until our society and culture figures out how to deal with the obvious hypocrisy involved in these instances of abuse/harassment/crudeness, or however each particular instance is defined, they will always be With us. You can't pick up magazine, watch a movie or TV show, go to a concert or just about anywhere else and not be accosted by sexualization. It's everywhere and it's all the time. Sex sells, sex buys, sex promotes and sex controls. What Franken was exposed to having done falls on the mild side of the spectrum of human behavior in our culture, IMO. And I would propose that there's not one among us who haven't done something similar at some point in our lives. This is not to condone such boorishness. But until we somehow acknowledge the schizophrenic attitude about our sexualized culture and how we are bombarded with ambiguous messaging about sex and power every one of us is vulnerable to misinterpretations, lapses of judgement and the crossing of lines. And it goes both ways. Men will pursue sex and women will manipulate that dynamic. So long as we each have our individual identities, moralities and social awarenesses somebody on all sides will be guilty of some kind of transgression. Describing men as predators is as disengenuous as describing females as victims. Stir in a healthy dose of our current struggles with sexual 'self-identification', trans-sexualization and the confusion of law versus morality you will end up with rapist Presidents, prostitute Madonnas and everything in between. |
I give you...Silvio Berlusconi

Silvio "Bunga Bunga" is a lech but somehow the Italians don't seem to mind.
Do you remember the porn star Ilona Staller? Stage name Cicciolina. She was elected to the Italian parliament in 1987! :D |

The breast grabbing is a simple physical manifestation of Franken's desire to dominate an attractive lesser light on a USO tour, as was the "practice kissing" shtick. That is why there are laws in the military and government that protect those who are not in a position to defend themselves from bullies. That is what I hate: He is a bully and a pussy. |
Does that make him a Pulley?

In this linked case, however, this doesn't appear to be an abuse case but rather one of an elected official being caught having sex in his office. It also happens to be sex with a man, but that really is irrelevant. If the lawmaker was single and the sex was with a woman, he still should resign as his conduct was unethical and inappropriate. But it's not sexual abuse, at least it hasn't been reported as such. The fact that his political stand was staunchly behind straight marriage and family values only adds hypocrisy to the situation, but adds nothing to the only real reason for his resignation. He should have resigned, and he did resign. |

Side note. What would Darwin say about all this? There is a male predisposition to getting their genes into the gene pool. |
Don't ever find yourself at work alone with ANYONE without at least 1 other person you trust to tell the truth.

PARF spills over to PPOT.
A natural consequence of the aniti-white-male media hate machine. Everyone now needs to have a verified 24/7 constant live-streaming public video system operation in effect(with redundant backup sources) in order to prove they did not molest another person at a particular time. What a world has now been created for us all....The blatant obtuse has become secondary to the theoretical. |
The "Pence Policy" is looking smarter and smarter every day, eh?
