You can get a single $6 coffee at the coffee house.
Or you can get a $6 12oz bag of Swiss Gevalia breakfast roast and make about 20 pots of coffee.
I still buy go to the cafe but as a treat and not compulsion.
Hey, it's not an every day thing...usually once a week before heading out to play pool for an afternoon. Really, I was commenting on how inflation is real, despite Govt. officialdom trying to tell us otherwise.

Actually, the rippled edge is to make it easier for a blind person to count currency.

The two larger coins, nickles and dimes, have a serrated(Quarter) and smooth(Nickle) edge to separate them.

The two smaller coins, pennies and nickles also do the same thing, with the larger denomination in value having the serrated edge.

This makes it easy to count coins by feel as you can quickly tell quarter from nickle, penny from dime.

Yeah, no inflation. What a joke. Speaking of restaurants, tonight my wife & I ate and early dinner at a fairly local place before going to the yearly parade in town. We wanted a place near the parade route. I ordered the two beef enchiladas with only beans and a diet coke. That's what I got, two enchiladas, a helping of refried beans and the coke. The price was $16.50. That felt like inflation to me.

Oh yes, cell phones, computers, TV's and other electronics are getting more expensive every day. Need to look at all the components to calc inflation.

I heard serrated edges are a hold-over from the gold coin days. The edges of gold coins were serrated to allow one to cut off smaller chunks.

Thats why lots of places have specials and coupons. That's why lots of retailers say buy one get one for free. Albertsons buy one get two for free..

Food is something that you can not cut out of your budget. You have to eat. It is also known food sales go up in economic hard times.

Cash only at my local shops like bagels, diner, pizza and deli. BTW my diner will cook you a big azz breakfast for less than $10. The fancy diner out on the state hiway will run $20 for the same meal.
