main strategy was to hide all my gifts from my wife. i suck at surprises and really wanted to make an effort this year to surprise her. i blew it on one gift already. a big box of LUSH bath bombs. she was dragging me to the store to buy more when i had them already wrapped at my office. i just gave it to her early.

now..i think i am screwed. everyone is delivering way late into the evening. nobody is here at 7:00pm which is when i am getting all the failed delivery notices.

i should have just had everything go to my house, where the guy hides things in my bushes.

damn it..i have a rifle scope in limbo going round and round in a FedEX truck.. plus all my wife's gifts.

Suggestion for next year. Buy gifts early at real stores. Hide gifts at office. No playing tag with delivery people.

When I used to work for "The Man" and go into an office I had all my stuffed shipped to work. So did my wife and one friend.

Now I work from home. Our dogs have learned the sound of the UPS and Fed-X truck and will bark at the front door even if the UPS driver is delivering something next door or across the street. They have the occasional false alert when some neighbor has the audacity to walk their dog down the sidewalk without our dogs approval.

My wife and I basically have a nonverbal agreement that we don't buy things for ourselves from Thanksgiving until Christmas that aren't an absolute necessity.

If I find myself needing a tool to complete a project during that time period, I generally let her know what I'm buying and what project it is for. If she asks if the project can wait a few weeks, I try to let it wait a few weeks...

I stayed two hours late! Nobody came to the office. Checked tracking and they said office was closed again! That mofo never stopped. I was there! I’m gonna pull him from his truck tomorrow. Bet at him with my box
