^^This^^

Every new iteration of the brand has had its detractors saying it was the beginning of the end. People were perfectly happy with the 356 and then came the 911, a radical, possibly brand-ending departure for Porsche. Personally I love the innovation. I'll likely own a 911 hybrid one day...

Really doesn't matter what makes the wheels turn as long as they do...

Clearly a 918 or any one of the other hybrid super cars with 800-1000 combine hp is a different compromise than a Prius. Then there are the large SUVs and mini-van type things.

I don't see how adding 10 miles of range makes it worth plugging the thing in no matter what kind of vehicle it is. Just make it a hybrid and not waste money on a charging circuit and an EVSE. Which raises another interesting question, how do they measure range? At 70 degrees and cloudy I can get 60 miles on a charge. On a cold rainy day I get less than 50.

Lots of ways that a hybrid can augment performance that you guys are forgetting. Electric motors make instant torque, which would do a great job of filling in the power defect at lower RPMs from a turbocharged engine. They can also be a power booster across the entire RPM range and help provide braking power. Now I’m not saying that I find these attributes to be super appealing because I like simple old cars, but I bet they will make a hybrid 911 haul ass.

If they sell well, don't expect Porsche or VW to wait ling to sell em as well.

I saw that MB pickup while visiting Berlin over Thanksgiving. I though it was a G class variant, but the article says it's based on a Nissan platform. According to the article, not coming to the USA at this point.

Pickup truck?! As a middle-aged family man, I'm holding out for the minivan!

I want mine without a sun roof...just so long as it doesn't have a sun roof, I don't care what makes it run.
