Paul Simon once wrote a song called "One Trick Pony".
Was he singing about Furd Mooshtangs, or the people who can't stop themselves from talking about them in Porsche message boards? Either way, a one trick pony.

Dude, do you really want to be remembered this way when you're gone? Serious question.

Not excited.
Why is it every new mustang seems to be driven by an idiot? I mean more than the other idiots!

I actually like the looks of the newer Mustang. Of all of the similar offerings from Detroit, the Mustang looks and sounds the best. I also like the car from the Bullit movie; forget it's iconic status, it was simply a good looking car. A modern version of that would be fine with me.
I couldn't give two ****s about what they say about Mustang drivers, there are plenty of idiots driving Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Corvettes and everything else, so gives a damn? I haven't been to a cars and coffee event in years, and I have no plans to attend any in the future. I like cars, I don't like most of the people that own them. Too many egos... |

I wonder if there is anyone on the Mustang forum extolling the virtues of the new Porsche 911, and the great value in a used Porsche...

This isn't the 911 forum, you know? That's over there --->
He did get a little excited about Mustangs when he first bought one, and I don't look forward to another pool thread, but I'd cut him some slack. I'd rather talk about Mustangs than pick-up trucks and I can't say I miss posts about cats or windmills... |

If we can contain the discussion to the car, I'll be interested to see how the scaled up torque thrust wheels look on the car as they are about 75% of what makes that version different from the rest of that model. There are a few latest generation Mustangs running around this very small northern town and a lightly used GT350 sat on the local dealer lot all summer (and AFAIK, remains unsold). I enjoy seeing them more so than the new Camaros and Challengers and am reeaaalllly tired of seeing the endless parade of new pickups driven by people who likely are unable to truly afford them. |

I would not rule out a Mustang if I was out looking for fun car.
But pay extra for a 'special edition" I don't think so... Food for thought: Mustang 300 HP Hyundai Genesis coupe 348 HP

I think the latest Mustang really nailed the best qualities of the 60's Mustang, better than the Camaro, Challenger, et al. The newest Vette is hideous.
And I do think the Ford V8 sounds better than an of the other domestic V8s. A lot of bang for the buck there... |

The newest 'vette is a styling oddity. I especially don't understand the rear of the car. It is likely a terrific driving car but the Transformer styling thing....dunno. From an aesthetics perspective, the next version has some ground to make up in atonement.

Sad that so many here react with such asswholiness. :-(
Years ago Ford got that Boeing CEO guy for their CEO and changed course to the land of technical engineered solutions. (not the restyled 1940's rehash crap.) Ford moved quickly to have things like in-cylinder injection for example. So, this reactionary meme that Fords are all crap, and Porsches are all F1 cars... well... to quote motion; Dude, do you really want to be remembered this way when you're gone? Serious question. (but we all know i'm just mocking him. ![]()

Unlike this thread, where our hero took the high road and discussed only the topic at hand without resorting to character assassination:
