Generally speaking, all but the Thomas fire are nearly completely contained. The Thomas fire is the big one, of course, and containment is ~35%, it still is threatening structures in Santa Barbara Co., and there are still areas under mandatory evacuation orders. The red flag warning is still in effect and the weather is still unseasonably hot and dry. NO RAIN IN THE IMMEDIATE FORCAST.

If you want specifics, check out this site: http://www.fire.ca.gov/current_incidents

The wind changed direction today, which will help the fire fighters at Them tremendously. Unfortunately, now my house is under a blanket of smoke and ash.

Looking scary for tomorrow early am for Santa Barbara County with the winds picking. I attended several briefings today at Emergency Ops Center.

They let us up to assess the damage to our Los Angeles Silhouette Club. The clubhouse is a total loss, as is the outdoor picnic area. All the targets and range truck were in railroad canisters and survived. We had a work day today cleaning out all the burned debris. What a mess.

Clubhouse and Range before...

After...

Sad to see a '72 911 Targa burned I Wonder how many other Porsches were lost in these terrible fires this year.

That's a recycled pic from the santa rosa fire, methink. I've seen the same shot with those same 2 porsches with a prius in between moths ago when it burned near me, could be a coincidence but I suspect news footage recycling...

My friend's community in Santa Barbara was in voluntary evacuation on Sunday, gotta check back in with him to make sure he's okay. Last I heard, fire departments from Idaho were out there helping out with the fire.

My bad..Prius, not Aztec? Funny the profile almost the same.

Anyway, if I returned home to find that? Well, I'd be sad about the car loss, but it wouldn't be at the top of my concerns...not by a long shot.

Same (and you should be proud for mis-characterizing a prius as an aztec, actually) ... We made a bug-out bag during the Santa Rosa fires, my wife asked which Porsche I would save. I said probably neither, I'd take her car to carry our stuff and given 2 minutes oe 2 drivers, maybe the bmw 2002 for sentimental reasons. The porsches are well insured but barricaded in the garage and not worth risking life over... I'd be sad, but already trolling the market with my settlement $.
