My HP laptop is a nice brick.....

Purchased mebbe a year ago....never touched....bought it to look at trail cam pics/videos.....winbloze...used a couple of times. Now it's a worthless made in China POS, and I can't even tell which model it is....

I'm thinkin' 00....what say ye?

Any other options...cell phone is all I have right now.

Thanks....

I need to examine some old flash drives....find a couple of ancient Excel spreadsheets, etc. and move to another flash drive...don't need to open/read them (yet).

What's wrong with the laptop?
I used an adapter to view SD cards on my Samsung phone and a friend did the same on his Iphone and Ipad.
You can buy viewers pretty cheap
If the laptop won't fire up, try reseating the RAM. I had and HP that was really finicky and I was always having to reseat the RAM to get it to work right.

Something like this work?
https://www.amazon.com/DSYJ-Micro-Male-Female-Adapter/dp/B0027YYMU6

If you can get the thing to fire up and it's not a hard drive failure, format it and turn it into a chromebook.

I have a high dollar engineering Dell laptop for work that is DOA after spending the night in a cold car. The company Dell rep already replaced the motherboard and it still won’t connect to an external monitor. What a POS.

You could install Linux Mint (Along side Windows) to get it going.

It's a lot easier than you may think.
That's all I run on my home PCs/LTs now. I don't miss anything from Microsoft.

I doubt even the battery will be recognizable after I get it out....a sticker won't have a snowball's chance...but I'll look .

I am an Asus brand whore. My office laptop is a 2011 Asus ROG that still works as good as the day I purchased it.

I loved it so much I purchased another one in 2015 that I use at home (all my work related stuff is all cloud based now) and it works perfectly as well.

I will only buy Asus computers.

Well this won't be popular here but after years of owning disposable laptops I've found a fantastic piece of equipment in my MacBook Pro.

Im not an HP fan, but it seems that’s all our IT department will get unless you qualify for a mac(devs). My latest one is an I7 elitebook, and it’s always acting flaky. Doesmt like being docked, locks up anytime I try to access files.... total POS.
