ID this car please

I just watched this movie with the missus, and I was never able to figure out what the car is. Usually there's some shot during a movie where I can get enough info to figure it out with some searches, but I'm stumped. I assume this won't be too difficult for a few of you.

There are several shots from several angles between 20-30 secs.

Looks really close to several Jaguar saloons of that era but I'll be damned if I can find one with a hood scoop!

I found some better pics by searching for the license plate which lead me to the company that rents it out for movies. It's a 1955 Bristol 405

IMCDb.org is an excellent resource for stuff like this... but a search there didn't turn up anything.

It relies on users to contribute to and make updates to the site... if the movie is newer and no car guys have seen it yet, that's why.

Internet Movie Car Database

(Remember the suffix is .org... it's easy to forget it's not .com.)

Bristol (Car Division) is a small manufacturer that was a result of Bristol Aircraft needing to find a use for it's excess capacity after WWII.
I'm holidaying in Britain had paid a visit to the retail outlet (they have no dealers) and service centre last week.
Current model is the Bullet. Looks great in the flesh, but not easy entry/exit with the wide sill.

YES - that's a Bristol 405
I bought one in 1974 in London & shipped it back to Australia. It was the first one fitted with disk brakes.
It was originally the car of a Company VIP Called Anthony Crook and carried his 100MPH number plates.
This series of hand built Bristol cars were based on the pre WW2 BMW 328 (1937?) that Allied businessmen appropriated from the Germans post war.

I went to the aerodrome at Filton UK (outside Bristol) where older tradesmen wearing ties were crafting the latest model 411, using a Chrysler V8. In the next row of aircraft hangars they were building the Concorde.

It was a fast and 'light' car - should have kept it but it was sold to buy an E Type.

Bristol - as soon as I saw the picture, but someone already said it.

I love Bristols.

Incidentally, Bristols is rhyming slang and you'll probably find you like them too . . .

Yep, I'm aware of that one and had checked already. I'd thought about submitting this car, but I guess I'm too lazy.
