Some hollywood types aren't worth the crap left on TP

Others however are worthy of at least a handshake and thanks for what they do for our armed forces personnel.

Gary Sinise is one I would like to shake hands with.

Andrew is the son in law of friends of ours. There is a lot more to the story that listed on the foundation web page but suffice it to say he has had a long road to travel. He is a pretty good kid. He and his wife just received the house this week.

Some celebrities use thier fame to help other people, and do good in a bad world. Gary Sinise is one of these fine examples with his USO Lt. Dan Band, and his volunteering for many veterans groups. The Rosie Odonells, and Kathy Griffins of the world should do likewise.

Rosie should volunteer to be dropped on ISIS but we can't use weapons of terror like that.

Bruce Willis once bought $200k of Girl Scout cookies (from his daughter naturally) and sent them to Iraq.

I hadn't heard of his Lt Dan band until we heard Andrew and Lindsey were getting the house.

Gary Sinise lives in my neighborhood. I've never met him, but I've seen him walking on the trails. Everybody who's talked to him says he's super friendly and down to earth.

Good, down to earth, Midwestern roots. Appreciates the benefits of the sacrifices made by others and enjoyed by all of us. Sure like to see some appreciation from other hollywanks.

As said above, a class act.

It is interesting that he's a Republican but he hasn't endorsed Trump.

No. That isn't necessarily and indicator of who or what he supports. Not everyone wants to dive into the the cesspool of political endorsement (along with the attacks that come from saying what you believe).

I find that many sports celebs are equally worthless. Here's one who is doing something good:

A friend of mine was injured when he was deployed to Iraq. He returned home as a quadriplegic. Dennis Miller visited the hospital on a regular basis and got to know Pete. When Pete finally got to go home he had a nice surprise waiting for him, a new large screen TV mounted in his bedroom, all compliments of Dennis.
Unfortunately, that story never made the news. There are still good people out there. Some of them are even celebrities.

Mr. Miller has always been supportive of the troops. There are some good ones out there but they don't make the news, like the above act of kindness, because they aren't gloom and doom stories to get people paranoid.

Andrew was on his second week of marriage when he was deployed.

Yep. Some time ago, Don Malarkey was back in the pool hall after attending a Band of Brothers reunion/charity event in Omaha. I asked how he handled the hassles of air travel, the security, the long lines, while in his 80's.

Don replied that he didn't. Tom Hanks had sent his jet to pick up Don at the local Salem, Oregon airport, then to fly Don back home after the event.

Always heard Sinise was a stand up guy.

There are good ones out there, unfortunately they are few and far between compared to the number of crap stains in Hollywood.
