What good is making **** illegal, if you can't enforce it?
Just curious...discuss...
|
I never knew a batch of asterisks were illegal. When did that happen?

Maybe 'cause it's a "murder" of asterisks.
|
The problem is that asterisks often lead to the misuse of more dangerous street punctuation, such as exclamation points.
|
You make benign offfenses illegal so you can use them as leverage when you want someone in jail but can’t get them for what you really want.

Because use of asterisks can lead to use of pound signs.

So about 77% of the US is white and about 13 percent black (probably about half male)..and yet we elected a black President twice and you think that drug laws being enforced against the portion of that 6 or 7% that sells illegal drugs is keeping whites in power? Interesting theory.
|
I agree. If we wanted to oppress the black man with benign laws we would enforce a dress code for saggy pants and ugly tennis shoes.

from the book 1984
a legal idea that you have no control over a man who believes himself innocent but even unenforced laws have a corrosive effect on the innocent and allow government control by fear |
So a line of asterisks, a twitter of hashtags, a distribution of at signs, an excitement of exclamation points.

Laws do the most good when they are directed towards actions that harm others; rather than towards items themselves.
It isn't the item but how that item is used. |
