What is this tendon or muscle?

See Sharpie. And if you tear it/strain it, what are some good exercises to heal it?

I'm no doctor but I'm fairly certain that if you've torn it, it won't simply grow back together on its own, so no amount of exercise is likely to help. If it's just strained it'll probably just heal with time.

I tore the bicep tendon last year. Put back together surgically. Still not 100%
When it tore, I instantly knew something bad happened.

Exercise? For an inflamed and/or torn tendon? No such thing. Rest. immobilize.

Standard RICE treatment:

Rest
Ice
Compression
Elevation.

And......

It will be a very long time to heal.

Are you right or left handed?

Do your fingers and thumb still work like they are supposed to?

Treatment will be tailored to what the injury actually is. Ice and rest until you have that nailed down a bit.

Maybe take a break from all that spanking, Shaun (perhaps limit yourself to 3X daily, rather than the Norm special of 5X)?!?!

Thanks. I'm pretty sure it's just strained but has been for over a month now. It's from sanding window frames, fans, etc. Been getting a little worse recently. I was hoping it was something that the rubber Thera-Band flex bars would fix. Had a different arm muscle malady last year and one of those cleared it up. in a week or two.

Can you please ask your mom to stop texting me then, that would be a big help.

Oh, and I was hoping someone would say that it's tennis elbow or golfter's elbow or some kind of elbow. None of the pics and videos I've seen match exactly to how it hurts. and when it hurts more.

If you torn a tendon like I did, you only have a little while before it can’t be surgical reconnected. See a doc ASAP!

I hate to break it to you, but that's not where your elbow is.

If it's from sanding and such it's a repetitive stress injury. It's not going to heal with therabands and their ilk. You really need to go into a sports medicine doc who can straighten you out. More activity might aggravate it. In my best I play a doctor on TV and stayed last night in a Holiday Inn voice, I'd suggest that rest, ice, stretching and gentle activity are probably the ticket home. There's obviously inflammation going on in there. You didn't get where you are in a day and you're not going to heal in a day. Get thyself to a doctor and get some real treatment. You could end up with a permanent injury if you try to treat it yourself, especially if you try to exercise your way out of it and end up doing more harm than good.

The good news is, as Tobra was suggesting, if you don't have tingling and numbness and radiating pain and the fingers all work right, there probably isn't an orthopedic or true neurological injury. It's probably a painful muscular ligamentous injury that will heal if given the proper treatment. But it will become a permanent neurological injury if you keep abusing the muscle.

It's cheap insurance. See a doc.

See a doc. Some PT could clear it up. I’ve avoided surgery on my shoulder, wrist and elbow thanks to a couple cortisone shots, PT and invoking some common sense once in awhile.
