Fricking Nissan....

My wife's ride is a Nissan X-Trail 5 speed manual.

We were just getting around to replacing what I have referred to before as "The Last Nissan". My significant other was complaining about the heat output during the cold snap and I could smell a little antifreeze and the reservoir was empty and I know they can be fussy about fluid level so off I go to the nearby FLAPS.

On the way i find that the clutch is slipping.
F**k. Car isn't worth much but worth even less now.

Will pull the manual from the database at work and try a clutch adjustment but not optimistic.

No more manuals for her.... 2nd clutch on this car.

And I sold a bunch of parts I hadn't installed yet.

Our daughter sold her Nissan Xtrail and got an Audi. The complaints about that suv were:

Rust in the rear wheel arches within the warranty period. Would not honor warranty.

Never enough heat in winter to be comfortable.

Did a total of 60k miles over 12 years . Likely our last Nissan. We had auto transmission with no troubles.

Now to be fair to my wife, I found online that running the car in 4x4 lock can be tough on the clutch for some reason. We have had a lot of snow this winter and I would imagine that she has been running it locked for a while.
Will get a price for repair and if it is too much I will think about donating it rather than repairing it.
They still seem to fetch about $4K with the mileage that is on it from private sale. Most likely over 2K for the clutch my guess and will try an independent first.
Recall on this thing for airbag replacement too. That of course is covered by the manufacturer.

Nissan is owned by Renault. Enough said.
