what is your go-to .22LR ammo?

the thing i LOVE about .22 rimfire is the many different ammo choices. the thing i hate about the .22 rimfire is the overabundance of ammo choices.

me? i love the unicorn of ammo. the CCI 40gr Velocitor. what a tack driving bullet!! my rifle loves the heavier ammo, and that Velocitor gives up very little speed pushing that 40gr pellet downrange.

you?

thankfully, my gun also puts the cheaper Remmy Golds and Winny M-22 bulk ammo into the hole as well. the Velocitor is my small game ammo..and i am down to one 50ct box.

Well, I used to get the really cheap, Wally-World Federal in a 550 round bulk pack. I used to pay $8 for a box prior to 2012. It worked great in my Ruger Mark II.

I haven't seen any for sale since 2012.

A friend belongs to a small bore rifle club so he buys me bulk SK Magazine Plus.

If I was to go rabbit shooting I'd buy something hollow nose and with a bit more bang to it.

Whatever is cheap. I don't hunt with .22, so it's just for plinking.

I'm just a plinker too, CCI Mini Mags, 36 or 40 have always been my preference forever...couldn't find them for several years, but well stocked now. My Diamondback and Henry Golden Boy don't seem to care what I feed 'em though....

Depends on what spoon I am shooting and what I am shooting at. My rifles and pistols, for accuracy, I start at CCI SV and go up to SK Std+/Wolf MT, I like SK Magazine, and I recently scored some SK Rifle Match at Std+ "on sale" price ($60/brick delivered). Never had good success with Ely match ammo (even Black Box 10x) or RWS offerings, although the Geco and Norma branded stuff is quality, just doesn't produce accuracy for me.

For sheer plinking, speed plates, etc. any of the bulk pack stuff seems to work. I seem to have a lot of Automatch at the moment, although I have a few boxes of the Winchester 555 stuff and perhaps half a brick of MiniMags.

If I could only buy one kind of 22lr ammo though, I would have to go with CCI SV. Fairly good for accuracy (esp at its price), cycles everything and feeds in everything.

CCI SV is my go-to, also. Really consistent in my 10/22 match, and Remington 541-T. I get slightly tighter groups w/SK Rifle Match and Federal Gold Medal Match. I've also found that my spoons really like Federal Auto Match too. Super cheap.

Tried a bunch of Cascade (yuk); Aguila shoots okay for me. Never any luck w/any Winchester.

My Sako Quad shoots everything well. It's just the the group is somewhere else on the target if I change it's ammo.

CCI mini mags for precision work. Always shot best out of everything I own(ed).

And for volume, a bucket o' bullets (Remington)!

So, you missed the jackrabbit last weekend?
