damn..i liked the old one.

the new one really blows a cool breeze up my pant leg..i love the thing! i think, visually it hits the marks for me. i dont really know about the performance and stuff.

for fun, i just put together a $180k car..

what's the consensus?

I saw one in person a few years ago. It looked to me like a McLaren and a Ford GT had an illegitimate child that combined the worst features of each. I'm also not really interested in a hybrid performance car.

I really liked the old one. I looked into buying one 10-15 years ago when they had gotten low enough in value that they were just out of my range (I was in my 20s and just starting out). When I finally had enough money to get one (or so I thought), they had appreciated enough that I still couldn't get one.

A few years ago? Didn't they just come out in 2017?

I havent seen one in person but really it from what I've seen. Too much tech for me but thats the way now. I've only driven an original once and I really wanted to love it, just too small for me inside.

Meh. Far too busy in the details. Ferrari, Lamborghini and Audi do a better job.

Liked the old and like the new (but then I like most $180K cars), however the hybrid thing kinda turns me off.

I did some work at Honda headquarters here (testing fire alarms) and the underground parking was stuffed with NSX's.

No doubt it is a fast car and has some good numbers. I don't care for the overall package. And I guess I am prejudiced, if I wanted to spend that much, it would be on a Porsche.

They stopped making them the last time when world wide sales got to crazy low numbers, like just a handful. It will be interesting to see how they sell.

The 2017's were probably at the car shows in early 2016. That's a couple years. Not a few but a couple.

It's a sharp looking car, the track version even more so.

Anybody With $500K Can Buy a Ballistic Nonhybrid Acura NSX GT3 Race Car

https://blog.caranddriver.com/anybody-with-500k-can-buy-a-ballistic-non-hybrid-acura-nsx-gt3-race-car/
Quote:

When the reborn Acura NSX debuted, some claimed it to be overly complicated, saying that Acura had killed the essence of what once made the original car so great. The hybrid powertrain, the all-wheel-drive setup, and the hyper-exotic styling all seemed out of character to those forgetting that NSX stands for New Sportscar eXperimental. Presumably, the purists were happier when Acura launched the NSX GT3 race version, which comes without the electric motor and with rear-wheel drive. Now, Acura is putting that car up for sale for a price nearly as extreme as the car’s aero package..............................

The GT3, which sends power from a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential racing gearbox, will be available to customers with the raw look of a bare carbon-fiber body. The GT3’s chassis and engine are built right here in the United States at the Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC) in Marysville, Ohio, as they share plenty of architecture with the production NSX; final assembly takes place at JAS Motorsport in Italy.

Have they sold many of them? Where I work there are a lot of high-dollar autos and I still haven’t seen an NSX (in fact I’ve never seen one at all, yet).

I’d take an old one over a new one in a heartbeat.

I am with Kurt, prefer the prior iteration. Looked for one when last shopping for a DD.

Too many electronic doo dads on the new one, which is going to kill driver involvement. Sure, it's way fast, but you can't hope to use more than say, 50% of its performance capabilities on public roads without ending up in jail, or in the morgue.

I also preferred the styling of the original. YMMV.

The new model has been shopped around for a few years. They kept showing it again and again while they decided on its final engine configuration. They did make some body tweaks along the way as well, but it was a long gestation period in public.

I would have no problem having one in my garage. Would not even have to put a cover on it.

From what I remember only in the USA is it called a Accura. In the rest of the world it is called a Honda. I have always wondered why a company does that, but Nissan aka Datsun and Toyota both have the upscale division. Infinity and Lexus.

I am NOT a fan of the new one. Or the new Ford GT. Or Any Bugatti since the EB110.
