1968............... life is so good that an event, during a war in 1968 is the most important reason for angst????????

really.

And yeah, the perp got off easy based on what he was reported to have done then. It was war, who mourns for the innocents that socialism has murdered over the centuries.

Snowflakes................... crying about something that took place 50 years ago.........

We've been having an adult thoughtful conversation here. The name calling provocations belong in PARF.
If the subject is too far in the past to have meaning for you, move on to something that does.

Cheers Richard

Thanks to Motion for putting up the pic and for the others explaining as to why the young man was executed. If we don't question these situations it is easy for the truth not to be revealed.:)

An awful lot of what people "know" and about that war is wrong. Some of the most common misunderstandings I hear are regarding the photo and the circumstances it documents:

Yes, most people get this one wrong. I think we discussed it a couple years ago when I posted the photo I took when I got onto the top of the building.

Living in San Jose, CA, with either the largest or 2nd largest concentration of Vietnamese outside of Vietnam, I have met several people that escaped on one of those helicopters.

BTW, they call themselves South Vietnamese. Most are boat people. If you want 1st hand recollections of those times from them, all you have to do is ask.

BTW, there are Vietnamese communities around the world because of the fall of South Vietnam. My acupuncturist's wife is from Norway. Yes, she's full blood South Vietnamese by lineage. Weird to hear her speak English with mix of Vietnamese/Norwegian accent.

Two good friends were refugee's from that period '75...they are not Vietnamese...they are American.....they have no desire to visit VN...it is not their home.
They are adamant about that.
Their daughter was just accepted to Annapolis...she wants to be a Marine Aviator.
