4 post lift storage position?

A bit of uncertainty crossed my mind yesterday after 7 years of storing my 930 on a 4 post lift. After raising the car to the storage level I need, should I leave it as is or should I lower it, releasing the hydraulic pressure and let the mechanical stops hold the weight? I have always lowered it against the stops, thinking I was preserving the hydraulic system, perhaps some seals, but yesterday I all of a sudden felt unsure of what is the best thing to do.

ALWAYS lower a lift, 2 or 4 post to the stops.

Garage
Yup. As said by sages above...rest only on the locks. My BendPak manual says so too.
