Any tips on how to find a climber?
I got a quote to take down 5 trees a few weeks ago that was around $7000. 2 huge pines, two very large sweetgums and a storm damaged water oak. Access is difficult and 4 are near my house. I really don't mind the ground work part and I was actually researching climbing the water oak myself until my wife found out my plans and put a stop to it.

It's pretty rare I've needed one, or the big equipment... but get estimates, ask around, or just size up a tree operation you see out and around....number's on the side of the truck...NOT the 75K new truck however ;). I'm always just looking for them to do what I can't or won't...at a fraction of the total job costs....just get 'r down...I'll do the rest. Definitely get "country" estimates instead of city rates...the next rural county over mebbe....good luck!
