Cool, thanks guys.
Hey Vash, you no longer have to wash your hands after visiting the bathroom with that thing. I know you are a good cook, so I am ever at your house, I will not be offended or disgusted if you handle food after a bathroom visit without hand washing. Just so you know, I trust you that much |

warm water and soap..still and forever bud. it's funny..if for some unforeseen reason, you get crap on your hands. let's call it baby crap, or dog crap..and not your own crap. you WILL go after it with water involved. you wont just go and get a piece of tissue and wipe it off. ![]() now, all of Taiwan has the toilets. hell, every "good" hotel in Monterrey park has them. i balked when i started seeing them. they are odd. odd as in different. and seriously, my wife wants them in both of our bathrooms. i am not thrilled at paying the cost of admission for a waterjet up the southern hemisphere. they are not cheap. that is gun money!!

Hirsch plumbing supply is where we get our stuff from and they have pretty good pricing on TOTOs over the years (beat internet pricing). I haven't bought a TOTO from the designer showrooms in a couple years. Check if you have one up there? Get your plumber friend to see if they can get you one at their discounted pricing. Maybe there are other plumbing supply houses that will work with you. Gun money? Hell man, anything that touches my ass has got to be good quality
![]() ![]() I have never stayed in any of the hotels in Monterey Pk. I didn't know they are that advanced with their toilets in those places. There aren't too many fancy hotels there, mostly just motels. Where do you stay, the Hilton? My wife's been to Taiwan (15-20 years ago). Maybe in the hotels they have those things but the bathrooms in many of the restaurants still has the hole with the grippy tile footprints on both side. Oh the horror, according to her. |

I thought it was because I have been crapping at the same height all my life and things just don't work as well with the comfort height.

Just to confirm "comfort height" is an extra tall toilet? My (short Korean) wife has been using the squaty potty, me... not so much.
Matter of fact she gets pissed at how 'regular' I am. ![]()

If you don't feel comfortable doing it, let me know what you need and I can purchase it under mine or my plumber's account and you just pick it up there (at your location) and pay for it. It should work. I can only buy toilets and large items. I can't do that for you if you only need a tube spot or a length of copper pipe. Not much saving there..Come and think of it, I haven't used my account for ages there. My guys just order it and who knows what or who's account they use but we seem to get a pretty good price. |

Our tankless toilet in Japan with most of the bells and whistles was $3000.
My favorite features are the heated seat and auto flush. The bidet stuff I hardly use but there is a heated butt drying feature if you don’t want to use any paper after the water jets. Takes a while to fully dry though. Last edited by dan79brooklyn; 02-20-2018 at 11:59 PM.. |

Just had our 2.5 bathrooms remodelled and fitted comfort height toilets in each one with soft close toilet seats(which are virtually standard issue now in the UK).
Also, in the en-suite bathroom, fitted a blue LED ceiling light on a separate switch for use at night, doesn't seem to wake up my wife when I open the door and doesn't wake me sufficiently to prevent me going back to sleep quickly, unlike the normal white ceiling lights would.(got the idea from a somewhat fancy hotel we stayed in recently)

slightly OT - anyone using one of the wall-mount toilets? They can be mounted on a 2x4" wall and 2x6" wall. I'll bet it is better to have a 2x6" wall.

i actually had a long chat with the salesman about them. he said that is the proper way to get a toilet higher for an older person. major reconstruction i suppose. it would be awesome to swing a mop unhindered under there.

"Comfort height" may be good for older folks or if you have some sort of injury, but I have little ones in the Noah household. The littlest one already has to arc it in (or get on his tippy toes) when he stands to pee. And his free throw percentage isn't 100%. So higher toilets aren't universally the best. Though being able to mop under a wall-mount may be a good alternative. Still, I'd always (irrationally) worry about the thing pulling out from the wall if I ever had a super-heavy guest come over.
Oh, and oval bowl > round bowl.

The toilet isn't ripping out of the wall. it may seem like its mounted to the wall, but it actually mounts to a steel frame back there bolted to the framing. The tank and flushing mechanism is all between the framing within the the steel frame. The flush button can be removed mounted, basically an air switch. We have only installed the ones that fit within 2x6 walls made by Geberit. That's was the Cadillac of residential wall mount toilets. I think Toto makes one now. I believe they even make one for 2x4 walls.

If my buddy Chet visits I’d still wedge a 2x4 under a wall mount toilet. Hehe.
Imagine wall mount toilet and sink? You could hose the room down ![]() |
