Plz double check me. Ordering toilets.

I’m about to drop some coin on a pair of TOTO thrones.

Both will be the Connect+ toilets with the corresponding butt-washers. I had an electrician put an outlet behind our current toilets. My wife’s wishes, not mine.

Anyways. I keep hearing 12” rough measurement. This is from the back wall to the toilets screws?

And it’s crazy; I can buy one-gallon flush toto’s !! I’m getting the 1.2 gallons. Hey I like bran muffins.

The typical toilet rough in dimensions are 12" from the rear wall and 18" from the side walls, to the center of the closet flange.

I've never had an electric toilet, so I'd advise checking their web site; I'm sure they have those dimensions.

I have always bought a Kohler, in the longer length, that will do a 3 gallon flush if you hold the lever down. Good enough for me...

Get the "Comfort height" toilets. When you are tired it is a Lot nicer to get up off of the throne. If my knee or legs are tired it is much easier.

Comfort height bidets by Toto. That's what's next on our remodel list

Not to get to disgusting but those higher toilets are anatomically worse for you, health-wise.

Absolutely get the comfort height. When I broke my femur last summer, the hardest thing for me to do was sitting and getting up from my standard height toilet! It really makes a difference.

Thanks bud. The footprint is the same.

Get the higher seat toilet, and install a set of adjustable stirrups (YeeHaw) for the hard squeeze....or a step stool for the better anotomically correct position.

Or just lean forward for the same position or bend at the waist.

Agreed. I replaced a toilet a couple years ago and tried out the comfort toliets. Let's just say things don't come out as well. I stuck with the old tried and true normal height. Problem is it's hard to find one that's not comfort height.

So that's why women wear heels.

As mentioned on the other thread, I am beyond thrilled with our Totos. In the month we've had them, not a single clog (and I've clogged many in my time). We bought 1.6 GPF models, off Amazon. No bidet/ fancy seat option, though. A little noisy on the refilling of the tank, but I can live with that. 12" rough in is most common, measured from wall to mounting bolts.

dad911 02-19-2018 02:12 PM

Toto sells 10, 12, and 14" toilets. It's the distance from the center of the drain, to the wall behind the toilet.

Neilk 02-19-2018 02:41 PM

One more thing. We have the fancy Toto washer toilet too, it sure is nice to have the spray cleaning on those days where your last meal didn’t go down so smoothly.

I always try to tell people to go with the standard height TOTO. The higher height was their handicap toilets. Measure your existing wall to the center of the toilet and buy the Toto according to that. Its rough dimension so if you are 1/2 off, its ok. THey also make a different length set back jsut in case if you screw up.

Wife's wish? Yeah right.;)

All the years I have done this, I have only installed one of those self cleaning toilet twice. First time was for a Chinese woman with her Japanese husband who let her do all the talking. The second was for a young Japanese couple from overseas.

Now you must tell me the secrete. IS toilet paper involved in this process:confused:. Of course I was temped to try the toilet we installed but that's wouldn't be fair to her for my workmen to inaugurate her brand new TOTO instead of the owners. So, do you wipe before the jet stream or after? You still gotta to wipe your ass from all that splashing. With what, toilet paper? It falls apart the minute it touches water. I am intruged.
