A Great Day to be a Motorcyclist in the PNW
Wow, what a day - sunny and actually breaking into the 40's. You see, we have two kinds of weather this time of the year up here in the upper left corner - clear and cold with ice in the shadows of every road, or raining and about 36 degrees. Unless it's snowing. It's a rare day that we have both sun and warm enough temps to not form our notorious hit-the-dewpoint-then-freeze-overnight black ice.
So, what's a fella to do? Why, take the old 900 SS out for a little spin - or more like a couple hundred miles of backroad fun. Granted, I ride all year, even on wet roads on chilly days, just not on the Super Sport. That's what my XR650L, or even my Road King, are for. What a joy today - she had the "bit in her teeth" and was eager to play. The confidence of knowing there are no wet leaves, no ice, or any other surface hazards around the next bend sure makes it a lot more fun (and stress relieving) to let 'er rip. What a day. Spring is in the air... more of these days to come...

Nothing like the sound of a 900 Duc. Bevel or Belt drive cams? Glad you were able to get out and enjoy it!
edit: never mind.. looked at your sig. see it is a 93.

Jeff,
Good day to spend with the garage door open too. I finally installed my refurbished bench seat on the 62 BMW and took the newer 1100RS out to High Bridge Road. I was actually too warm if I didn't keep moving. I didn't cover as much ground as you did, but yes, it was at great day to by out in the PNW.

I did the same today. Went to kids soccer and basketball this morning, and then took the Ol' Nighthawk out for a jaunt. I only did about 50 miles today on Hwy 9 and other local roads, but it was glorious!

Joel, we shall have to ditch the kids at the pool again this summer and go for a spin. Maybe a couple farm loops by my place, or I could ride down and go from yours to mine on Hwy 9.
Just realized that sounds like a Glen Miller song...
