with all the fart jokes......

California is taking it seriously, they will be putting **** in your drinking water.......

California to add recycled sewer water to the state reservoirs | Fox News

California’s water regulation agency approved new measures Tuesday that will allow recycled water – water that once ran through the sewers – to be added to the state’s reservoirs, The San Francisco Chronicle reported.

The new rules are expected to be implemented by 2023.

"This is a type of indirect potable use — it's not treated recycle water that goes directly to someone's house," said Miryam Barajas at the Water Board. "It's highly treated."

She says the new regulations could potentially affect all 36 of California’s reservoirs that serve as the main source of the state’s municipal drinking water.

Why not just pick up the poop in SF and feed it back to the homeless, that makes sense as well.

The concept of mixing treated sewage with future drinking water is quite common. It's so treated that the sewage should be the least of your concerns.

I live on the Missouri River. We get all our water from that river. The same river that every city north of us uses to dump their sewage. And the same river we dump our sewage in. The same river people down stream get their water from. Gross to think about but it is what it is.

Around here they call it "toilet to tap." My concern is whether they can eliminate all of the chemicals people dump down their drains - meds included. I'm glad I'm on a well. I know exactly what the composition is from the periodic tests I have done.

in el paso TX, sewage gets treated and goes directly into the drinking water system.

no mamby pamby curing period in some reservoir.

i think it is a great idea. right now we treat it and put it out to sea...new system, treat it better and more thoroughly and put it back into the system.

There are only so many drops of rain on this earth, who knows how many times that drop of rain, has been run though the digestive track of a fish, animal, human in one form or another over the millenia.

And that septic system has a leach field that is directly over the pocket your well pumps from. Yes, your own sewage draining into your drinking water.

But, having grown up with a well it isn't all it's cracked up to be. Between the radon, lead, iron, copper, sulphur and now glyphosate, well water has it's own issues.

We have huge sewage treatment plants, I would not be surprised if are already putting some of the treated water in our water supply.
