Gas Turbines and Jet Engines (flying gas turbines) are run "lean". Combustion is usually complete. You get CO2 and H20, some NOx.

In the "old" days, some of the jets left carbon trails, mostly due to mechanical atomization (high pressure fuel). Heat vaporization (using fuel candy canes in the combustion zone) solved it. These days, high pressure air is used for atomization.

No, I mentioned before this is not the "Egg Man" (shaped like a egg) who gave away $80,000 to a $2.99 a minute internet hooker named "Bill". :) This is another friend (same group) who I consider a fairly smart person. He did investigative work for the insurance company here. Lots of great stories about catching people for fraud ect.

And 10 joints would be the morning consumption for the Egg Man.

Had an older neighbor who would look up in the middle of a conversation, pause, and say, "Looks like they're spraying us again today." He'd shake his head then just pick up where he left off.

At some point they are spying thru the TV, shoo not Alexa/HomePod, and will write a manifesto.

Thank you for posting this. I’m embarrassed to admit I am dealing with the same crap with my father... the you have to read this, or have you heard about...

Some of his conspiracies are:

Inside earth people and Admiral Bird (planes can’t fly over the poles)
Spying via laptop cameras
Antarctica

There are a handful more.

My brother thought it would be funny to get dad off on one of these tangents at Christmas time when I had a house full of people... it was bloody embarrassing.

You can’t win. I’ve told him that I don’t have time for this nonsense and that as a technical person, if any of it were true or relevant I would already know about it.

If people are not smart enough to agree with facts at some point they get into a conspiracy mind set that makes them feel smarter even though they don't understand the matter. To your friend the conspiracy of chem trails is more understandable than the facts so the facts are dismissed for the conspiracy theories. No matter what you try to show or prove your friend will have the excuse of it being some sort of cover up.

What is worse is these people are motivated to distribute anything even vaguely supporting their conspiracy beliefs to give validity to their belief. They even go so far as to think they are doing you a favor because when their conspiracy theories are shown to be true you will not be able to handle it and it will somehow completely disrupt your life.

My oldest brother is like this. He is compensating for his lack of understanding math and science, never did well at all in school. It was easier to latch onto conspiracy theories instead of learning to think for himself. Pretty much if something is a conspiracy it is true. Con trails, Bigfoot, Extraterrestrials, etc. All of it

His religious belief is the book Urantia. It covers most of the conspiracy theories. Another brother is very Fundamentalist Christian. First they just asked him to not talk about it. He wouldn't. Now Older brother is not allowed in their house.

When he first started talking to me about extraterrestrials and other conspiracy stuff I told him I like science fiction and to tell me more. He quit talking to me about it. Now if he gets on that subject all he talks about is how the Fundamentalist brother won't talk to him about this stuff.

He used to include me on emails that were links to all kinds of conspiracy stuff. He dosen't include his own thoughts or ideas, just "You need to read this" and a link. Didn't help to ask him to stop sending me the links. Finally had to tell him I only have so such time in my life and I don't want to spend it on this kind of stuff. Said if it was true or not it was not going to change what I do on a daily basis. So, reading those links was just a waste of time. He said if I didn't want to learn all that stuff I didn't want to talk to him. Told him there was a big difference between talk/discussion and reading all that crap. He said I needed to know all that stuff or he couldn't talk to me. Told him I have friends that are experts in all kinds of fields and I don't need to study or learn their repective field to be able to talk to them about their field. Said if he wants to tell about it in his own words fne, but I was not interested in reading up about it. That finally got me off his mailing lists. It was about distributing the information backing up his beliefs, not discussing it.

I had a friend who was into multiple conspiracy theories. He was a very smart guy, and he had a real problem with authority, and also women. And women in authority. And, and...

DanielDudley 03-11-2018 04:44 AM

After seeing one of the other threads, I'd have to say that there is an ass for every seat. The best con always involves offering somebody something that they want. In the case of conspiracy theories, people actively seek them out, they want them so badly. My buddy would even try to concoct his own, much like the guy portrayed in ''A Beautiful Mind''. I don't think he saw people who weren't there, but he was way out there in some ways.

At one point he wanted to make a movie about Aliens, and actually bought a camera and started shooting. I think he thought he could actually get a home made movie into the theaters.

No deal. We're all entitled to our own opinions and when I'm insulted over mine I respond. I'm not a flat earth believer or a tin foil hat wearer, but the government lies to us a lot.

That's clear scotch tape, it just smooths out the wrinkles from the secret camera, like Cybill Shepard used to do in Moonlighting (nylons over the camera lens).

Zuckerburg is actually 57 years old, but he looks 25 still because of that tape....

I love the smell of chemtrails in the morning. Thinking of starting a chemtrail huffing group, who's in?

Not the same guy as the egg man but is there something in the water up here? :)

And yes I've shown him the video of how science works. Hot gasses + cold out side = vapour trail. His breath + cold outside = vapour

You should not associate with stupid people like that. They'll only bring you down.

Yep, it is scary how many people are incapable of critical thinking.

masraum 03-12-2018 06:39 AM

I think there's a major difference between "they are" (spying via your webcam, microphone, etc..." and "they can". Yes, they absolutely can do a lot of stuff that you read about, and probably more. But I don't believe that they just monitor EVERYONE as a matter of course. No one wants to monitor uncle Jeb or little Susy or 90% of the rest of the general public out there. I believe their monitoring is much more targeted than that.

Does some shady stuff happen in govt? Sure, I have no doubt, the same as it happens everywhere.

Who watches the watchers?

One thing Snowden reported while working as a contractor for the NSA, the others in his group would use the systems to check up on girlfriends, wives, husbands, parents, school friends, etc. No one was checking up on the watchers...

This is the one that local police use. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stingray_phone_tracker

Several court decisions have been issued on the legality of using a Stingray without a warrant, with some courts ruling a warrant is required[43][44][45] and others not requiring a warrant.[46]

I've been told our local police in NJ use it.
