Sorry for your loss of time.. lol.. Not a lot of exciting things to there unless you like gambling... Take a drive over to Mobile and tour the Battleship park and then go to NOLA on your free weekends..!

A few places to try, The Half Shell restaurant. and Shaggys in the Pass. Stennis space center has a nice display off I-10, I think at mile marker 2.

Haha. I was staioned there (pascagoula) in the early 90s. I am going there (pascagoula) for work, something about a ship involved in a collision. Just reaching out to local Pelicans. I am going to the Pensacola air museum and will check out other stuff I remember in the area. No desire at all to go to New Orleans, didn't like it last time I was there.

There is tourist NOLA and then there is NOLA. It is a great place if you know where to go. I wish I would still live there, I'd meet up with you.

I checked into Wisconsin in August '88 down there. Holy hell, the humidity, the mosquitoes, the yard lines draped across the weather decks.
The only saving grace was I worked in main battery plot and it had excellent a/c all the time. I wouldn't leave plot all the day. Spent countless hours updating charts for NGFS. That island was only a discussion at the time. Spent waayyy too much time at Thunders. Met the lead singer from Flock of Seagulls there one night. Totally surreal. Hoist a Miller Gen Draft for me! And mind your speed passing Gautier, right?

Spent a week in Pascagoula in 1985 - flew an SH-60B in from San Diego to ride CG-50, the USS Valley Forge, back to San Diego through the Panama Canal.
July. Yikes. The one thing I remember was that the guards were doing trunk checks as cars were leaving the shipyard. Sandy, on your way to Pensacola, take the back roads through Perdido Key. On the way stop at the Florabama for lunch.

My dad was in Pascagoula for a decade or so around 88-98! I think he was at Litton then and in the AF.. I grew up outside of NOLA in Slidell (paging ShadowJack!) Spent many hours cruising that coast. They do have car shows and cruise/drives there that are quite popular as well.

If you've never been to Natchez, this would be a great event to attend and even make plans to spend the weekend in Natchez. That's my platinum SC on the cover from last year. I think you would be pleasantly surprised with the quantity and quality of vehicles that this show will present.
