went to the dope store today

first experience into the recreational use store front today. it was strange to say the least, at one point i started laughing some at the whole experience and i wasn't even high. dudes working there were very high so service was slow, but it was worth the trip. pun intended.

you have to sign in with valid ID, wait until they send you in and you are attended to by a single salesman who watches your every move when not engaged in conversation. always more sales people than customers in the locked room that you need to be buzzed, again pun intended in & out of. the place next door is a bigger operation and has an armed guard out front so naturally we went to the non gun place ![]() they displayed the product in what i can best describe as a tiny one of the ball things you'd put your hamster in back in the day. it had vents & a tiny built in magnifying glass with lights placed on the walls to illuminate the products. i could only compare it to being in a small jewelry broker's place in hind sight. vapes, silly names for pot, a medical counter (tax free) & recreational counter (25% tax collected) like being at the butcher shop. this place did not seem to have edibles, seeds or any live plant/clones or the like. if you indulge from time to time, or are familiar with the culture i would recommend the experience for anyone interested in getting high or not. it was an eye opener, plus it could be a great gift idea for that college age nephew of yours. or better yet if you & the misses wanna revisit your youth one evening.. it's worth killing an hour over either way. i will likely go the bigger gun place next time as it seems more like a super store where the edibles and such might be on display with more to see. strange new world we live in, i kinda had a "hide & go seek" pee urge the entire time i was in there. i laughed hard all the way across the parking lot to my car and i still was not even high yet, cause it felt like i was getting over... ![]() t

I can’t even begin to guess what pricing is at. It go way up? I read in news, that supply is damn near gone. Is that true?

I’m gonna try to grow my legal allotment. Just to see “if I can”. I don’t even partake anymore. Been decades.

I am also very curious (also out of the game for decades), not sure any legal recreational dispensary's open in L.A., yet.

I have several friends with MM cards, the experience they describe is different than what you experienced. I will be very odd to walk into a store and buy weed over the counter.

Laughably silly shopping experence, totally crazy names, the shop I checked out had a wide array of edibles too. Lots of effort at trying to market the goods. Quite entertaining. Cheers Richard |

Smoked 40yrs. ago. Quit when the kids came along, I'm retired now. Don't much like drawing that smoke in the lungs these days. However, I enjoy the high better than booze. So I bought some edibles. |

so, if your bar tender has a shot with you mid shift that's not the same? no product was consumed on the site so the variances you note could lead to endless debate john. something tells me, with all due respect this may not be the entertaining, fun afternoon experience I was suggesting that's for you. you need to be 21 like alcohol here in ca.

I am with you on legalization. It's just that legal medicinal dispensaries are under scrutiny these days and it's a very bad time to be lax with federal law. Even international banks are not processing (domestic) drug profits. Darwin goes with the flow when necessary. |

they are taking in mountains of cash.. san jose has done the right thing by only letting it happen in heavy industrial areas where there are not neighborhoods, schools or kids. they are the nicest buildings in an otherwise dreary chop shop, making repairs on the streets run down industrial sort of area. it's worth a visit for the informed curious mind.. now I'm high..

2005 bought an oz of "Bubble Gum" from a dude in Chicago for my future ex wife. It was $400 and frankly, worth it. Lasted her five months. Two tokes, buh-bye. He needed to go to another dudes house to pick up some stash. Great guy he was. Friend of a friend. Drove him over. Stayed in my car until he came back. I would still be in the slammer had we gotten busted.

I've been using MM for almost two years now for nerve damage in my feet. The place I go to is like a "Whole Foods" grocery store. Unbelievable selection including live plants from seedlings to 4-5 foot plants. Absolutely sanitary place.

Not interested in smoking or eating these days.....Just Papas & Barkley topical. A finger tip amount rubbed on each foot and within 15 minutes....ZERO pain.

Got the call. Drove across town with three buddies to pick up Shawn getting kicked out of his house out in the stix. It was five of us driving across downtown past the cop shop with 10-12 4ft plants in 6in pot in the back of the old Corolla. Windows down. Plants out the window. Slayer pumping through cassette and 4" speakers. Yelling at strangers. Ahhh. Youthful indiscretion. |

Yes for sure there are valid medical uses. Using infused coconut oil on my neck has been a god send! Working even better that shots in the neck to deaden the nerves to reduce the pain. And less intrusive too. Has kept me from having to get surgery so far.

Plus the reports of reducing or eliminating seizures in some folks that did not find effective treatment in conventional medicine are compelling. There are some strains of the herb that produce more of the CBD the medically active component than the the THC. The get high component. I'm close to a grower that is focused on growing the medical type. Those in that arena are working together to hybridize and develop the strongest CBD strains for their patients , forgoing the more commercial and profitable recreational market. I'm hopeful that the changing legal landscape will allow more research into this and possibly other medicines that nature has for us to use. For one thing , to keep it out of the hands of big Pharma, whose motives have become suspect. Cheers Richard |
