Mid size, AWD Sedan

It looks like my wife's trusty Impreza will be going to college with my daughter.

She wants another sedan, a little larger, no SUV's or hatchbacks. She really wants AWD, after this winter and where we live I see her point.

She's currently interested in the Legacy, the Regal and the Stinger. (All four cylinder versions).

No real interest in spending the money for an Audi or VW. She thinks the Fords and Chrysler's are ugly.

Are we missing anything?

Volvo S60. New one coming out for 2019 on their SPA platform if you can wait a bit. Volvo is building some absolutely amazing cars right now. Available with AWD.

Huh.

Legacy is a Subaru. She likes her current Subaru, she will get another if she doesn't drive something she likes better.

Volvos and Infinitis look like they cost BMW money. I was under the impression that current Volvos weren't holding up the brand's reputation for durability.

We hadn't considered the Hyundai. Anyone have experience with one?

We are done raising kids. She doesn't want another SUV or minivan.

The G70 looks really nice. I believe it shares a lot with the Stinger.

I have a 2014 Genesis and really like it a lot.

I've had Regals as rental cars, frankly they are crap. The pinnacle of GM faux luxury, as soon as you sit down the cheap materials and poor fit/finish are obvious. They are also totally boring to drive. Other stuff to consider:

Cadillac CTS AWD
Acura ILX/TLX
Lexus IS/ES
Lincoln MKZ
Jaguar XE
Ford Fusion

I love the bigger Subaru sedan. The legacy.

I had no idea there were more sedan AWD options.

Too bad about not being interested in Audis. The A4 is Consumer Reports top midsize pick. I have had had 6 Audis and all of them, except the 4000 Quattro, were a blast to drive. Currently have a 2 year old A6 AWD turbo and it does everything exceptionally well.

Wife has had 4 Legacy Outback AWDs. All were good solid snow cars. Can’t go wrong there either, they just lack the refinement and price tag of the Audis.
