Howz your family?

This thread ain't about you, or your boy jeanyus Sammy. If you would lecture a total stranger for being a jerk, chastise their parents for raising them wrong....and then cuss them out, in front of an impressionable kid in the backseat...well...

I was raised differently, and by example ;)

Not sure what a high IQ has to do with any of this....maybe mine's not high enough :)?

It’s Southern California ......I would have gone off to.....

interesting how people from different parts of the country react to this. I’m in New York. Someone appears to be opening my car door there is going to big trouble for them and likely later for me

True, many years back on a nice summer day on LI I was sitting at a red light when some guy hops into the passenger seat while I was looking the other way.

Yes, dumbass me forgot to lock the doors.

He claimed he had a gun and wanted whatever I had in my pockets.

Let's just say he exited the vehicle empty handed. :D

So yes, my reaction to the dumbass in OP is colored by my prior experiences and were it me, she would have been lucky to get off with just a tongue lashing.

four aged out debutante housewives walking up to my car giggling and acting the fools..is vastly different than some cagey dude with his hand in his pocket faking or not faking the shape of a gun.

my spidey senses can suck, but the have never sucked that badly.

my drunk friend jumped into the wrong chevy truck and said, "lets go!'

i had to escort him out..the other guys just laughed at him..there was no screaming or pummeling.

Happy drunks can turn nasty in an instant.

While the likelihood that they will be trouble is admittedly low their poor choices are not my problem.

Better responses when the door swung open:

- Oh no not this crap again, look lady I am married, leave me alone.

- Sorry!! This is not the shuttle to the VD clinic! That is the van behind me.

For the win!

A couple of my cats like to scratch my wife's favorite chair.

I've tried speaking to them nicely.

They only seem to react when yelled at.

Seems to get their attention a bit quicker.

Instead of resorting to regaling you with the boring details of my life let's just say its experiences have left me with an incredibly low tolerance for bull**** and stupidity.

I have found, YMMV, that people doing stupid **** will far more often back down in the face of a strong unambiguous expression of my feelings towards said behavior than react aggressively.

The few who do react aggressively where going to react that way regardless of whether or not I was "nice".

Works for me, again, others mileage may vary.

Sorry for the sideline but long time cat owner here.

Squirt gun filed with water, royalty pisses them off (to the point that they will stop doing whatever) but does no harm.

Carry on...

The chair is in the center hall.

That requires me to get off the couch.

I don't like the chair all that much.

Got my 18 pound boy as a kitten and the first day home he bounced off all the walls plus a few ceilings.
11pm it was time to finally sleep.
Nope. He bugged the hell out of us, i.e. me.
Jumping on head with claws and all that.
All through that night we went through a correctional loop with increasing liabilities and even using spray bottle.
About 4am after being woken up with 20 episodes or so I took that little bastard and put him in cold shower for a few seconds.
Did not phase him a bit.
But he snuggled up wet while he purred to sleep on my pillow.

Y'all know nothing of cats.

It's mostly the tomcats that will try to assert dominance like that.
Spray gun will just piss em off and go away to plot revenge.
Like crapping in yer shoes or taking a leak in yer underwear drawer.

Every once in a while Boris the Blade here forgets who's boss and then I have to put him back in his place. He'll just try to attack me and just is a plain @55hole.

When he does, I grab em in the skin of his neck and hold him up.
That is what their mother does when they are kitten.
and it pretty much shuts em down

Then hold them in front of your face, like your face , IN there face.
and growl louder then they can ever growl.
MEAN and sustained.

It puts the kitten fear in them & that will be it.
You will see it in their eyes, when you see the fear, give it one more snarl to make it count.

And said cat will be sweet as can be again.. it usually lasts 6-9 months, depends a bit on the season..
