The New 911 GT3 RS Weissach Package!

Is the "regular" 911 GT3 RS not enough for you? Porsche has just unveiled the 911 GT3 RS Weissach Package at New York Auto Show. The Weissach package costs $18,000, adding a bunch of carbon fiber goodness to the GT3 RS. Porsche is also offering forged magnesium wheels as an additional $13,000 option.

If you were to purchase a GT3 RS, would you add the Weissach package and magnesium wheel options to it?

Gotta love charging for unpainted parts like hood and mirrors.

I'm sure it's fast but can you imagine driving on a public road in that thing?

"Look at me, Look at me"... So very stupid!

This is why I still prefer the classy air cooled cars.

I'd buy the loss leader GT3 RS, the one Porsche uses to get customers into the dealership on the weekend. Just as much fun and not getting raped on the options.

Kind of flashy boy racer (ricer) looking for a Porsche, but if you want some flash in your life it should satisfy.

I suppose the aftermarket guys like Gemballa were taking a bite out of their full market share.

Last time I checked the UV clear coat for carbon fiber cost big bucks, $300-$400 a gallon which was way down from the $60,000 a gallon of the first generation stuff 20 years ago. Has it come down to the point of being as cheap as regular paint now? For the carbon fiber to be uncoated would be a surprise to me. Best way is to incorporate the UV protection into the epoxy I suppose.

Too ostetantious for me.

If I saw a regular 911 with this body kit in the streets, I'd chuckle at the level of poor taste of the owner. (lookswise, it belongs on a track and not on the street)

For me, an RS model should be a balanced mix between track and street. (looks and performance)
This car tips the balance very much to the track side, entering RSR territory.

I'm sure it is a hell of a performance beast, but even though it looks spectacular as a racecar, I don't think it is a pretty car.

That being said, if I had money to burn, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

It for sure is a car for people that like attention.

Mack in the stone ages when 914s were sold new I ordered a 74 914 2.0. The dealership had two of the limited edition 914 cars in stock and discounted. They were just UGLY. I ordered a new 914 with the options and color I wanted, not some marketing person with wild tastes.

No doubt any of the GT3s are crazy fast, but thay have managed to make that look like some teenager ricer was playing with the "build my Porsche" on the web site.

No doubt, there is a butt for each of them Porsche makes.

Scoops on the hood need to be sent back to KIA. Do not like. Other than that, a bit much but nice.

I just don't like any of it, regardless of the bright colour

All modern sports cars have vents and scoops highlighting radiator inlets and what not up the wazoo.. it's just not pretty, they all need to out do themselves but in the end they all look the same

Those things serve no purpose, and they don't make a car look any better.

the latest 911, the ass looks hideous.. that plastic areas above the spoiler below the window is fugly.
that lifting spoiler , same.
the ass wide brake lights , bleh..
vents over the front wheels make me wanna puke

I would not want to give my money on a car looking that ugly.
Not even if I won the big Euromillions pot and was told I only have 4 years left to live.

You guys do realize that this is the GT3-R-S right. This is not really a street car with an appearance package for boy racers. Yeah, it can be driven on the street, but that's not really what it's made for.

I could be wrong, but I suspect every vent and scoop on that car serves a purpose, especially, if you buy it and run it hard on the track which is what it was designed and built for.

Clearly, it would be a much better car if it was scoopless and the brakes and engine overheated after a couple of laps and it was a little scary in a high speed sweeper because it didn't have downforce.

Vash, if you buy one or just get to drive one, let me know, I'll fly out and go with you. I suspect that thing would be something.
