Microfiche now there's a blast from the past ! I sold Cub Cadets back when they were good ( IH owned ) and everything back then was on microfiche . My how times have changed . I appreciate you looking......... thanks

Headlights on those are worthless.....I found some cheap led's on Ebay for nighttime plowing.......Under $20 if I recall...

Not when you add these ! I bought a set for my 330 and will probably buy a set for the 318 . Yes they are pricey but appear to be very well engineered . Heavy heat sinks with good wiring and they fit the OEM headlight sockets perfectly . But they only work well if your reflector is in good shape and your lens is clear . I need to remove the lens and see if I can clean/polish it . On my 330 I installed a new lens and with these LED's they are night flame throwers

Very bright and good range for a garden tractor.

My freind usto build pulling tractors with those 318s he put 3 and 4 cyl geo engines in them with the stock transaxle no problem screamers. I picked up a 1968 140 H3 a few years ago for a few hundred bucks with plow and deck. Its a good rig

Yeah the 140's are legendary in their own right especially with the H3 hydraulics . The JD's of the 70's + 80's were some of the best GT's ever built , engineered much heavier/stronger than was needed but that's what makes them so enduring . To many folks it's hard to believe spending ANY money for a yard appliance that is 30 - 40 years old makes any sense . Some of us know better

Mowed with it today for the first time , did a great job but WOW is she thirsty vs. my diesel 330 !!! And I am LOVING this power steering .

Check plugs to make sure it's not running rich... The air cleaner could be stopped up, there is also an adjustment for the idle and main jets on the carb that could be set too rich.

The 140s are rare, and the people who have them, know it....virtually no old deals on these tractors any longer. I was able to pick up a really nice JD 214 from the original owner with the 47" mower deck, 48" snow blade, and a 39" rear rototiller and mule drive. The mower deck is shot, but the tractor, and rototiller look amazing.

I got this tractor at an auction, that had'nt been well advertised, so my bid of $400 won all of it. I picked up a 8 HP tecumseh DUERR combo wood chipper at the same auction for $20.

I took a quick glance at the air cleaner/foam element and they didn't look too bad . I will replace them as part of my baseline maintenance . I will pull the plugs and see what they look like . I am running my first tank of ethanol free fuel and will probably buy some Seafoam and see where that takes me . She runs great and took my fairly steep hills in stride ! She is a tank .
