My 2004 Durango Started rusting by 2005. By 2010 it was Swiss cheese but then the engine blew at 95k miles like they all do. Chrysler made a ton of excuses for the rust and engine but didn’t cover either. I kept it inside most of the time and took proper care of it.
My wife’s 2003 Honda oddesey had a tiny bit of rust around the wheel openings at 15 years and 270k miles. If someone hadn’t hit her and totaled the van, she’d still be driving it. From 200k to 270k, we hardly did any maintenance. It didn’t seem to care.

i am going to hit the frame with some ospho for any rust under it.
its a shame, I would like to keep this truck for another 23 yrs like I did my mazda but don't see the body lasting that long based on other dodges I have seen. I pulled a taillight off the mazda many years ago and could see rust on the inside of the panel but so far nothing has ever popped thru like I see on dodge.

Well truth be told. Each auto manufacturer has its own specification for corrosion resistant. For example some will allow some corrosion over a 10 year period, but must maintain safe mechanical function. Everyone is different, some better than others. Add to that cost cutting.

So is it the Dodges that don't rust out that are turned into Fords? F. Old Rebuilt Dodge. Just maybe that's why you only see rusted out Dodges.
