Paging FastFred

Need a confirmation.

2006 Kia Sorrento with the 3.5

Crank Position Sensor, is it under timing belt cover or on top of transmission bell housing?

Anyone else who knows for sure please chime in.

TIA.

Scott

If it's under timing belt cover then may as well do the belt while in there so trying to prep what I need.

If you arent due, or close, I woulnt bother. Usually getting a cover off isnt bad, especially if you just need to sneak a sensor out.

btw. img above is correct for 2006.

Well I'm not sure. Used car for daughters first beater.

Timing belt was supposed to have been done but we all know how that goes sometimes.

True that. In that case, new belt kit. I did a similar 2.7 recently and the rollers were really rough, glad I replaced them. ~160k
