$200 tomow and blow
Once per month, seems pretty cheap to me. The Gardner uses a John Deere golf course type riding mower, he and an assistant were here at my daughter’s house in Eastern PA for bout two hours. Includes the house in the background that they also own.

Hugh, you have a knack for attaching yourself to unusually attractive real estate.

Not me,my daughter and SIL, he works on Wall Street and they just bought a $2.5 mm condo across from the NYSE. This is their weekend house. $500,000 20 acres and an almost 10,000 sq.ft.house that is about 5 years old, super well appointed and insulated. Makes me wonder about my $560,000 townhouse in Valencia, CA....

Well you wouldn’t want the young family to suffer from a crushing commute, would you?
Good on you and your family. I hope you drive your daughter crazy spoiling your grandchildren and teaching them dangerous woodcraft in that pastoral paradise. I’m thinking fires, whittling, a bit of mumbly peg. You know, all the stuff that makes Woods and pastures fun. All those skills will be transferable to subway survival.

I spent a good hour or two preparing a hideout under two big Spruce trees yesterday. I'm gonna let the grandkids think they discovered the place. Big enough for a pup tent and is about 30 feet from the fire pit.
It doan get no better 'n that. |

What is to wonder about? The most you will ever be there in a year is 5 months and 29 days. Sheeeit son, you got grandbabies to babysit all over the country.
Looks like more of a pond than a lake. I wonder if it is deep enough you could stock it and have the fish survive the winter. Catching fish with kids is always good. You notice I did not say, "fishing."

Yes a freshwater fed pond with fish. They only use the place a weekend or week at a time. Most of the time they are in NYC or traveling. Don’t know plowing costs but she calls the Gardner/plow guy and has him check before they come out if its been snowing. Otherwise no plowing.

Find a local feed store and start fattening up those fish.
When we lived in Texas, either the wife or I would go out and throw floating food in the lake for the fish around sunset right where the dock met the bulkhead. They would just skim along the top, sucking it down. You could pull a big fat catfish out with a net by the end of summer.

I thought this would be about $200 HOOKERS and blow......Guess not...
Hugh, your daughter did well. Enjoy the grandkids. Maybe someday, you mow the lawn in exchange for RV hookup fees? Looks like fun to me....
