Really only lock vehicles if I am traveling and have all my stuff in it, or if I am going into the city for something.
The only time I have ever been robbed, they smashed out a window. I never leave anything of value in there .

Lock it.

As a good friend of mine said while we were pad locking our kevlar helmets in our HUMV at the chow hall in Iraq:

Live in the city, so yes, always locked tight. No valuables left in cars ever. Just common sense; nothing more.

That sounds the same as here.
In the cold parts of winter..I leave the motor running with the doors unlocked while at the grocery store if it's 10 minutes or so. Nice and warm when getting back in.

The ONLY time I lock my car is when downtown or at the airport parking lot. Normally it's in my driveway or workplace unlocked with keys in the ignition.

What's the point if I never put up the tops on the Targa or the 190 SL???? Never a problem...

I worked with a guy who lived in one of those communities in n. Scottsdale.
Neighbor had the house cleaned out "including fixtures", stole the escalade in the garage.

Crime is everywhere.

You might wanna check your insurance policy. Mine says if stolen while keys are in, no coverage.
