Anyone watch "Sour Grapes" on Netflix

I watched this short documentary on Netflix - Sour Grapes.

Pretty interesting...about the super high end wine market and the auctions that go with it. Hard to believe people are paying $100,000 for a bottle of wine. It's a collector's sport and this show uncovers a counterfeit market.

Looks interesting. Ill check it out tonight.

He screwed with the wrong guy (Koch) - the auction industry was an accomplice. #GreedisGood

And yet it happened again with a wine shop in Berkeley selling futures. Remember folks, if it seems to good to be true, it usually is.

Terrific documentary. The guy, criminal as he was, had one amazing palate.

....

I recall seeing Koch being interviewed quite a few years ago about this (haven't seen anything else). Didn't Koch spend like 30 million to nail them ....sometimes it ain't about the $$$ :)

Say's he's worth $1.8B in Wiki. Also says he settled for $3 million with Rudy Kurniawan.

As part of the settlement, Kurniawan was to spill the beans on the counterfeit wine industry. (If this was mentioned in the documentary, I missed it)

I don't know if Koch was doing it for the good of his hobby or revenge for getting ripped off. Both I suspect.

I suspect Koch is worth substantially more...but I dunno. I did use my googlefu after posting before. Yep, they swindled the wrong guy...he spent 35 million + (according to him), to expose the industry scam....it wasn't about the $...they just pissed off the wrong guy.

The "black sheep" of the three Koch brothers is all right in my world :)

This was great, but only if you're a wine drinker and understand the culture
