Last Stand Brewing Company - Pelican brewed!
Had an opportunity to drop by and see the gang at Last Stand Brewing over the (very hot) weekend. Last Stand is the vision of fellow Pelican Kerry Richardson (krichard) - they officially opened in February this year and are rocking and rolling.
The place was busy (the photo below is deceiving - I waited until things were more quiet to take a photo of the outdoor area), the setting chill, and the beers excellent. We particularly liked the Mandarina Bavaria IPA. The brewery idea is five years in the making, so really great to see them producing good stuff and getting a solid following. They're being very thoughtful and methodical about how they approach things. If you're in the Austin area and you are interested in a good beer and supporting a fellow Pelican, a stop at Last Stand is mandatory. They're open most Saturdays and Sundays. Give them a follow on Twitter or Facebook to keep up with the news. Congrats Kerry and team on getting this far and best of luck in the future! Look forward to returning soon to hoist another pint or two. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Wait, you're telling me that within 1.5 miles (walking distance) I can go to Jester King (high on my favorite list), then go to Argus (high on my wife's favorite list), then go to a Pelican brewery??
All I need to do is drive 3 hours? ![]()

Hey Kevin, thanks for the kind words and for taking the time to come by the brewery. As I mentioned to you on Saturday this project has been a long time in the making so experiencing people coming out to the brewery and enjoying the brews has been a very surreal.
Pazuzu, you should definitely stop by next time you're in Austin. We are in the same business park as Argus Cidery and they just started opening up on the weekends for tastings. We also have a distillery in the business park, Revolution Spirits. They primarily distill gin, but they recently released a coffee liquor and have some other liquors in the works that they have collaborated with Jester King on using JK's spent fruits from their sour beers. There's no lack of booze in the area... |

Spent an alcoholiday this weekend in the area, downed some beers at Kerry's brewery (although he wasn't around), then hit the cidery and brewery down the road, then hit some other breweries further down the road...you get the idea...
