Who makes a bullet proof coffee maker?

I've had it with Mr. Coffee. Last one lasted 6 months. Replaced under warranty, the hotplate crapped the sheets. Warranty replacement lasted two weeks, the water pump died.

Starbucks sucks.....I want a reliable and long lasting automatic coffee maker....is that too much to ask?

We have a Mr Coffee and we're on well water and no issues to date . I expect the quality of all the major store brands is hit or miss as they are probably all built in the same rice field . Do you have a commercial wholesaler/retailer near you ? I would think a commercial unit would be built better and last longer . You gotta have a good cup of Joe in the morning !

if you are using pre-ground coffee, Bunn makes a good machine.

I spent $29 on what must've been the low-end of the Mr. coffee line half a dozen years ago and it still works fine, every day. For $29, I didn't care how long it lasted. Maybe you bought a more sophisticated version, I don't know. I don't think there are very many moving parts in mine that can fail.

If not a French Press (broken), I just use a disposable Braun....just works every morning...for years.

French press, but that shifted the failure mode upstream to our bean grinder or “burr” grinder as the new one is now called. We are on our third one in two years.

I was wondering WTF you were talking about because there's a thing called "bullet-proof coffee", but you don't want something to make bullet-proof coffee. You want a coffee maker that's reliable.

This is me. Drinking some right now. My Mr Coffee unit must be over 15 years old and still working perfectly. I don't drink coffee on a regular basis though so YMMV....

Tell me about it. I won't pay Tabbysphere $ for stuff, but I went through a couple of air roasters, I break glass stuff, and now I just buy Peet's Major Dickison's, usually pretty freshly roasted and ground.

Never had a problem with my burr grinder....try a Solis, mebbe $170 as I recall, but years ago.

Technivorm Moccamaster

English - Technivorm

These are made in a free country - Holland, no Chinese junk. 5 year warranty. No gimmicky controls that break either. I have a base model and it has served me well - the coffee is brewed HOT - no difference from hand pour that I can taste.

Yes, it is more expensive than the garbage you buy at WalMart. I don't know about you though - I enjoy keeping an item for a long time if it suits me well. I also do not like to throw away things every couple of years.

I hate my Bunn. It brews a decent pot of coffee and pretty fast. But I never know how much is going to come out. I put six cups of water in and four come out, sometimes seven come out. I always have to top off or dilute after it's "done" brewing to make it the right strength. I use it every day at the same time, so it's not like the tank is losing a lot to evaporation.

My Hamilton Beach percolator is better, but cleanup is more of a pain in the ass.

We've got a Hamilton Beach Brew Station right now that if it makes it to 7/1/18 will be 3 years old.
Every other coffee maker we've had has only made it a year at most.
Let's see......12 cups a day times 3 years is......13,140 cups.

I would have said that too, but I thought we are talking drip, not espresso maker. The Moccamaster starts under $300 - the Jura around $800. Jura is made in Portugal (Swiss design).
