Did they change the rules?

Just for you? In 9 ball pool, this guy developed the soft break...practically guaranteed a run out for every game. Today, most tournaments ban this break, requiring that 3 balls must rebound past the head string after the break. Before Corey developed the soft break, 9 ball breaks were "smash 'em" and cue ball speed was king. After everybody was complaining, Corey replied that he didn't make the rules, he just played by them. So, just for him, they changed the rules. Quite a compliment, eh? Note how the balls end up in this less than 30 seconds video.

The game is 9 ball. You want to make a ball, any ball, on the break...then the balls must be struck in numerical order. Combination shots are legal...when the 9 drops, game over. Gawd! I gave the wrong link...that's a snooker match. Stay tuned..

That's a snooker match. Corey thought that was where the big money is, so he went to Europe to give it a go. Much bigger table, smaller balls, and pockets that accept only straight between the jaws shots. Totally different strategy than pool.

Want to see top level snooker? Youtube search for Ronnie O'Sullivan...
